1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Peace In Colors-Quilled for IC 25 on: April 11, 2011 10:53:44 PM
Hello All!
This is my newest piece, it is about 7inches tall, 6inches wide....

It started out being completely different, but I am glad it turned out the way it did.
I really wish the fading was not so blunt, but I was running out of paper, and worked with what I had. But overall, I am pleased. It isn't nearly as 'complicated' as some pieces I have done (Read:Started and not finished), but It looks nice, and that's what matters!

I actually am not keeping this piece. I made it for a raffle for my Invisible Children page. They are doing a new Campaign called '25', and I am raising money for it. I hope that whoever does get it will love it like I do!!

And here is one more art shot, because I like it. : )

Thanks for visiting, hope you enjoyed it too!

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / I Got 99 PROBLEMS but a STITCH aint one! X-Stitch (NSF Children?) on: February 28, 2011 12:10:02 PM
Hello All!

So a Funny story (Okay, not so funny, but somewhat vital to the piece) I was on www.knowyourmeme.com, and I cam across one Called "I got 99 Problems, but a B*tch ain't one. And I was like "Huuuuh?!" So I clicked on it! It turns out Jay-Z created a rather graphic rap song about problems, and the main line in the piece is, well, "I got 99 Problems but a B*itch aint one" And then I was like " O: What's about STITCH?" And decided I would try my hand at cross stitch to make this piece.

So here it is on my Desk. I like it a lot, especially for being my first cross stitch piece! I have to give everyone over here a big round of applause, though! What would have taken most people an hour or something to do took me a few weeks, mostly because I get distracted, and get bored by counting squares. (Also, I really want to write 'applesauce' instead of 'applause'... Does anyone else? If so, give yourself a round of applesauce on me!)

I was planning on making a glow-effect on the font, which is why there are spaces, but decided that I really like the way it looks now. (Isn't it funny how the amount of time spent on some things is directly inverse to the level of which you find things good enough? Ha Ha!)

Ironically enough, I actually do have a problem, and it's on the word Stitch!! HAHAHA! I noticed this After I was done. I might fix it, but who knows, I find it funny!!

Oh well!!! Also, I'd like to let you all know I got the text pattern from stitchpoint.com

(Here is an artsy photo to show off the awesome font!)

So, I hope that you all enjoyed this, and I hope that no matter how many problems you have, a STITCH ain't one!!!
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Monogrammed "S" In room colors- on: February 05, 2011 03:06:44 PM
I I finished this wek about a week ago, and been meaning to post it...

I don't really know how I feel about it,
It's on my desk right now, but I might put it elsewhere. Becides some technical mistakes (Used too much glue, Part of the frame is a bit wavy) I'm okay proud of it, but it didn't turn out exactly how I hoped it would...

I choose the colors based off the colors in my room. These are all colors on my comforter, lamp and chair (which is about all the furnichure you can have in a dorm room...). I personally think my room looks very nicely put together, but looking at all the colors on this piece just mase me squirm!!

Here are a few close ups...

Here it is on my desk. It does add some color to the 'awesome' white wall/white desk combo...

No Matter what, it was a good practice piece, though I might make a new one for my desk...

Thnks for looking!

4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Quilled Treble Clef : ) on: January 10, 2011 08:36:08 PM
Hello! I think this is my first post over on this side of the Craftster!

Anyway, I've always wanted to try quilling, and for Christmas, I got the supplies to start quilling!
Ive seen a lot of awesome Quilled art, and thought that a Treble clef would look cool!

Anyway, I am not the best (It was only my second piece) and needs to be cleaned up still, but, here it is!

It is about 7 inches tall, and on a piece of cardstock.

Here is a WIP Progress

And a few detailed shots...

I don't know what to do with yet, I might frame it or something, who knows!
Hope you all enjoy, and Happy Crafting!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Buttons and rickrack and bells-Oh My! FElt stockings on: December 09, 2010 09:58:47 PM
Hello, all!!
I have been making these little stockings for the last few weeks to attach to cards and cookie boxes. They are cute ornaments, most have a little bell. I put a few mini candy canes in each for a treat...
Okay, here are my favorites!

I love the colors of this one!! It is tied to a box that I gave to a guy friend

I's a bit hard to see, but the corner button is a snowflake, so nice!

I personally love this one... maybe it'll "accidently" forget to be given out...  Wink

I love the snowmen!!

Who dosen't lobe big buttons?

Anyway, as for how these we made, I cut out the design on felt, hand-sewed on the buttons, then added the ribon and rickrack, sewed the stocking together, and finally added a corner button and ribbon hanger.

I have quite a few more, but I really love these ones!

Feel free to ask questions, and happy holidays!!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / $1.00 Desk Marbles, Glasses, rose petal, barcode....Many Pics! on: December 06, 2010 11:57:25 PM
Ah, gotta love $1.00 crafts...

Anyway, I have seen many people make these and decided to give them a try. Mod Podge and some magazine clippings later, and this is what I ended up with. I have seen many people who make these into magnets, but I have to admit, I am digging them sitting on my desk right now!

Here are some of my favorites...

Geeky Glasses

Barcode (to a sleep-aid coupon, if you're wondering...)

An actual rose petal. I liked the idea of this, but it flaked off a bit on the side, I did seal it, and it looks nice!

Pop-Tarts.

Hope you all enjoy, and If you have questions, feel free to ask! Happy Crafting!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Mommy/Daughter/Daughter Aprons on: October 17, 2010 09:58:08 PM
Hey all : )
So, this year, I have decided to go 100% homemade for Christmas. A little Daunting, Yes, but It has gotten the creative juices pumping, that's for sure!

Here is the first set of gifts I made, Matching aprons for my Aunt and two cousing (Both girls, 5 and 8 ).

I used Mcalls pattern 5720,but had to make up a pattern for the 8 year old (Both girls are extremely tall), but it was pretty easy to do.....
Now, on to pictures!

A group image of all three aprons. As you can see, I used stripes for my aunts apron, with floral belts and pockets. the girls aprons are vice-versa.

The Child apron

9  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 37 ENTRIES / What?! A Plain white perfume holder?! Well, NO more!!! ; D (Pic. STUFFED!!!) on: April 01, 2009 10:14:52 PM
Well, at least If I don't get the most votes, at least I win the award for the stupidest Topic Subject... Roll Eyes

ANYWAY! I had this cute little white... Thing, that came with a Christmas soap set. it held my stuff nice, but lacked Pizzaz, so when I heard about this challenge, I decided to go all sorts of crazy over this thing. : )
So, here us how it ended up:

Here it was before (I had already started on the drawer, hence it's missing...)

The sides of it. (You Can see on the left one how I was running out of primary colors! : |  )

Some of the Irregular buttons, I <3 them! )

The mandatory "Action Shot"

Hope you like it!
10  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 36 ENTRIES / No Good Deed's-Receipt holder and bag on: March 02, 2009 11:59:06 PM
Hello!
So, I have been SUPERSUPERSUPER Obsessed with the Musical Soundtrack to WICKED:The Life And Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, my favorite song being "No Good Deed", and I have also wanted to make a place to organize my receipts, so I KNEW I had to combine the both!!!
BTW: Where is the Song-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4I8pneJkxBY

I decided to make one of those "Hidden Book Hole" things (Get it? No Good Deed's...Spending Money...Receipts... haa haa?)
Here are my poor receipts before...

I wrote "The magic of Oz" on the front in silver, which I covered in blue fabric

The inside of the book, with reciepts (I record and throw away my receipts weekly, so it did not need to be big)

I also made a bad to put the book inside. One side has the Witch, copied from the front of the book/soundtrack, and the other side has my favorite line "...Let it be agreed I am WICKED through and Through...")

And finally, the inside of the bage, I lined with pink fabric (Because "Pink goes good with green" :  )    )

All In All, I like the idea, but I really want to redo the book, the hole is not a neat and even as I want it to be.
 : )
