Hello All! This is my newest piece, it is about 7inches tall, 6inches wide....
It started out being completely different, but I am glad it turned out the way it did. I really wish the fading was not so blunt, but I was running out of paper, and worked with what I had. But overall, I am pleased. It isn't nearly as 'complicated' as some pieces I have done (Read:Started and not finished), but It looks nice, and that's what matters!
I actually am not keeping this piece. I made it for a raffle for my Invisible Children page. They are doing a new Campaign called '25', and I am raising money for it. I hope that whoever does get it will love it like I do!!
And here is one more art shot, because I like it. : )
So a Funny story (Okay, not so funny, but somewhat vital to the piece) I was on www.knowyourmeme.com, and I cam across one Called "I got 99 Problems, but a B*tch ain't one. And I was like "Huuuuh?!" So I clicked on it! It turns out Jay-Z created a rather graphic rap song about problems, and the main line in the piece is, well, "I got 99 Problems but a B*itch aint one" And then I was like " O: What's about STITCH?" And decided I would try my hand at cross stitch to make this piece.
So here it is on my Desk. I like it a lot, especially for being my first cross stitch piece! I have to give everyone over here a big round of applause, though! What would have taken most people an hour or something to do took me a few weeks, mostly because I get distracted, and get bored by counting squares. (Also, I really want to write 'applesauce' instead of 'applause'... Does anyone else? If so, give yourself a round of applesauce on me!)
I was planning on making a glow-effect on the font, which is why there are spaces, but decided that I really like the way it looks now. (Isn't it funny how the amount of time spent on some things is directly inverse to the level of which you find things good enough? Ha Ha!)
Ironically enough, I actually do have a problem, and it's on the word Stitch!! HAHAHA! I noticed this After I was done. I might fix it, but who knows, I find it funny!!
Oh well!!! Also, I'd like to let you all know I got the text pattern from stitchpoint.com
(Here is an artsy photo to show off the awesome font!)
So, I hope that you all enjoyed this, and I hope that no matter how many problems you have, a STITCH ain't one!!!
I I finished this wek about a week ago, and been meaning to post it...
I don't really know how I feel about it, It's on my desk right now, but I might put it elsewhere. Becides some technical mistakes (Used too much glue, Part of the frame is a bit wavy) I'm okay proud of it, but it didn't turn out exactly how I hoped it would...
I choose the colors based off the colors in my room. These are all colors on my comforter, lamp and chair (which is about all the furnichure you can have in a dorm room...). I personally think my room looks very nicely put together, but looking at all the colors on this piece just mase me squirm!!
Here are a few close ups...
Here it is on my desk. It does add some color to the 'awesome' white wall/white desk combo...
No Matter what, it was a good practice piece, though I might make a new one for my desk...
Hello, all!! I have been making these little stockings for the last few weeks to attach to cards and cookie boxes. They are cute ornaments, most have a little bell. I put a few mini candy canes in each for a treat... Okay, here are my favorites!
I love the colors of this one!! It is tied to a box that I gave to a guy friend
I's a bit hard to see, but the corner button is a snowflake, so nice!
I personally love this one... maybe it'll "accidently" forget to be given out...
I love the snowmen!!
Who dosen't lobe big buttons?
Anyway, as for how these we made, I cut out the design on felt, hand-sewed on the buttons, then added the ribon and rickrack, sewed the stocking together, and finally added a corner button and ribbon hanger.
I have quite a few more, but I really love these ones!
Anyway, I have seen many people make these and decided to give them a try. Mod Podge and some magazine clippings later, and this is what I ended up with. I have seen many people who make these into magnets, but I have to admit, I am digging them sitting on my desk right now!
Here are some of my favorites...
Barcode (to a sleep-aid coupon, if you're wondering...)
An actual rose petal. I liked the idea of this, but it flaked off a bit on the side, I did seal it, and it looks nice!
Hope you all enjoy, and If you have questions, feel free to ask! Happy Crafting!
