1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Cloth Diaper Covers on: January 29, 2008 08:06:44 PM
Wow they look fantastic!

I'm another full time cloth user. For my fisrt son I didn't, then with my 2nd a friend put me on to them and I said I'd try a 'few'. Now I will never go back! Covers and prefolds are the best way to go for newborns in my experience. I have never made my own (yet) but even so I have still saved myself a small fortune so far!

And congratulations on your girl !:D

how do you like the babyhawk?

It's cool. I think if I had it to do over again I'd go for something without miles of straps to tie up though. Perhaps I should just bite the bullet and chop the straps and add some buckles Undecided. Anyway, it's comfy and convenient. I mostly use it for cleaning the house and going to the laundry room Embarrassed.

Cheesy That's what I use my BabyHawk for too.

The coat is awesome. It's still summer here in Australia but I'm thinking I will make one of these for winter!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Pocket Diapers! on: January 17, 2008 01:03:11 PM
Oh I'm so glad I found this thread. My DS who is about to turn 1 has been a full time clothie since he was 4 months old. I'd love to be able to sew my own now that I have a machine. I'm a bit scared though, how hard is it? I'm only very new to sewing. I'm worried I'll go and spend money on hemp or bamboo and PUL and then completely ruin it Huh
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Lots of crafty bags, pencil rolls, etc (img heavy) on: January 15, 2008 11:20:32 PM
Oh I LOVE the crayon apron! What a fantastic idea! I have 3.5yr old boy who just lurrrrrves his crayons. The fabric on the pencil roll is just gorgeous too!
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: My second square bottomed bag on: January 15, 2008 11:08:17 PM
No, I didn't have anything to add as a closure, and I was too chicken. I was considering putting a button and flap, but my 3 year old has taken my button hole foot to the far off mystery land Cry

Next bag will have a closure....For now I'm just impressed I can make something that looks like what it's meant to be. Cheesy THis is only the 4th thing I have sewn....EVER! LOL
