1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Halloweenies! My little hot dog vendor and hot dog baby in their costumes. on: November 03, 2008 09:13:27 AM
I sewed an apron, bow tie and made a paper hat to make my four year old a hot dog vendor

and made his 2 1/2 week old sister a hot dog in the stroller.

They were so cute.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Little Owl Apron on: November 03, 2008 09:07:47 AM
I made this for my son to give as a birthday gift to his little friend, Lane, who is really into owls.
I think it will be cuter as it washes and frays a bit to give it some texture around the detail. I will be fine though because of the zig zag stitching around the detailing. Now I only wish I had made one for myself. but can't for a while- my sewing machine is on strike until I go get it serviced. I was just lucky I finished this before it quit.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Little Red Flannel Dress- now where is that baby to wear it? on: October 10, 2008 09:48:20 AM
update: So I did add on some stems. Once again:

So I am not so patiently waiting to go into labor. I am 39 weeks today and realized I have no dresses in 0-3 months. So I went through the scrap fabric and made a little jumper this morning. There was no real plan or pattern- so here it is.

Back:

The two buttons on the back (although only one is functional) is my favorite.

Detail:

I am thinking of adding some stems to the flowers... what do you think?
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / New, cheap wall art. No, I don't have a case of nesting... on: October 01, 2008 01:23:33 PM
Two weeks to go until baby #2 shows up and I have it bad. I can't tackle enough projects in time- my midwife swears that I will have her early with the way I am going. I went in for my last appointment with paint on my legs that I couldn't see in the shower to scrub off because I am so huge now... I was a smidge embarassed and she thought it was really funny and approved of the paint color.

Anyway. Another project down. Inspired by similar things seen on craftster (bathmats and a quilt..) I took the same idea and made wall art with my scrap fabric. Then I stretched the finished project over some frames for canvas that I picked up for free. I am glad they are done and only took one evening.

Whatever else shall I make until this baby shows up...
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Yard Sale finds stenciled to make lovely baby girl items on: October 01, 2008 01:10:16 PM

So I have the world's smallest budget to get ready for baby #2. So I have been hitting the yard sales and picking up simple items I can freezer paper stencil into fabulous... or at least I hope so.

Here are a sampling of a few items. Oh, and if the hat isn't a giveaway- she will be Lucy.
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / scrap fabric to quilted edged swaddling blanket and burp cloths on: October 01, 2008 01:07:09 PM

So my sister was parting ways with some pj pants that I still thought had potential... So they became the scraps that turned into the quilted edged swaddling blanket and a few burp cloths for my baby girl. Still a pill, but way, way easier than making a full on quilt.
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re-con: My son's old receiving blankets into burp cloths for girl on: October 01, 2008 01:00:12 PM
So I'm expecting a baby girl in just 2 weeks now and have a fierce case of nesting. So I have been converting stuff from my son into more girly items. The blue receiving blankets were the most recent victims...

9  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Funny, but somewhat wrong. Sorry Steve Irwin on: August 31, 2008 06:25:37 PM
So I am learning how to make stencils with freezer paper- Here is what my husband selected.

We were pleased with the results.
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / First Post: Pumpkin-colored Felted Sweater Bag on: January 07, 2008 03:23:43 PM
Here is my first post! All of your posts have inspired me to craft on. So I am finally posting some of my stuff. Hope you like it as much as I do.

I cut the top third of the sweater off and cut open the arms to use as the bottom of the bag and the other arm cut into two strips and sewn in half to make the handles of the bag.
