So I make a case for them. Brown linen and a bedsheet.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / zippered collar t-shirt on: March 31, 2005 11:54:36 AM
hey guys.
in a desperate need to sew something I actually liked for the first time in months, I put together this shirt, which an existing red t-shirt, 3 zippers and NO ZIPPER FOOT. I don't know what happened to it, but it's gone, needless to say sewing zippers in has never been messier, or as unfinished. This shirt will be redone when I find my zipperfoot or buy a new one.

anyway. Here it is:

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / knit cuffs on: January 10, 2005 05:09:43 PM
I made some patchwork cuffs a while ago and put them in the jewelry section, but I don't think they quite are, let me know if I'm wrong about that.

I just learned how to knit like.. I don't know about two weeks ago and I've been making these knitted cuffs with random buttons on them. Here are a few photos, I apologize for the quality.

5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / rock and spiral note books-- tutorial on: December 24, 2004 01:05:59 AM
Alright kittens, I wanted to make my sister some notebooks for Christmas because shes till in high school and she's keeping good copies of all of her notes.
I wanted to give her spiral bound note books because they're the easiest to keep notes in (you know what I mean), but I needed to find a way to cover the Hilroy cover without that edge behind the spiralling.  I used old LP sleeves from the thrift store.
Well, here it is.

annnd a tutorial:

step one
unfold the sleeve
http://www.ajfrick.com/images/notebooks0001.jpeg

step two
cut the cover off
http://www.ajfrick.com/images/notebooks0002.jpeg

step three
crop to fit your notebook (generally 8x10.5")
http://www.ajfrick.com/images/notebooks0003.jpeg

step four
flip over the sleeve image, and on the back mark lines that match up with each ring in the spiral, make them fairly lengthy
http://www.ajfrick.com/images/notebooks0004.jpeg

step five
draw one straight line accross all of the little ones
http://www.ajfrick.com/images/notebooks0008.jpeg

step 6
punch holes at all of the junctions
http://www.ajfrick.com/images/notebooks0007.jpeg

step7
cut little lines from the edge to the hole
http://www.ajfrick.com/images/notebooks0006.jpeg

step 8
fit into spiral binding (just push the tabs in carefully) and glue down.

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / patchwork wrist cuffs on: December 04, 2004 10:53:21 AM
Hey guys, with the need for christmas presents, and to make use of my ever growing fabric scrap collection, I made these cuffs.

I didn/t set the white balance on my camera, so perhaps I'll rephotograph later, but you get the idea.

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / walkman case... pictures fixed on: October 15, 2004 09:46:58 PM
I am a strong advocate of the casette tape walkman.
so, it really was only natural to make a case for it.

I'm going to go pick up some velcro dots, so the flap with fasten closed... but otherwise here it is.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / seems like you ladies are all over this type of thing-picture fixed on: August 26, 2004 01:38:22 PM
Here's an off the shoulder top I made for a friend who's moving away.
It was made to fit her, so I won't model it, and she hasn't seen it yet.

So here's a picture of it on the floor. The top band is actually sewn straight I just didn't lie it flat down.

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / fake inches? on: February 15, 2004 03:37:43 PM
out of stark curiosity i thought a pattern i bought might have been too small, so i checked the sizing charts and my suspicions were confirmed that the inches for the size I'd bought were much less than the number I thought I was. HOWEVER I always buy that size and it always seems to fit

has anyone else experienced anything like this?
do the inches on the chart match your actual inches?

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / wool skirt, made on the bias on: February 14, 2004 10:27:24 PM
