I wanted to take a whack @ Perler beading, but alas I was unsure what to do thanx to lack of inspiration and "craftsterteer's block." When I came across sexylilsushiroll's video game crafts post (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=98400.220, I found her concept brilliant and went on a beading rampage and even asked friends if I could do custom ones for them! Here's most of the ones I've done so far: ( oh btw,~name~ means I freehanded the design)
row 1- Red Shyguy, Hylian shield row 2- Blue Shyguy, ~Target Bullseye~, Link row 3- ~Kirby~, Zelda, Goomba
During the summer, our Tuesday Bible Study got together every Thursday for Cake Day. We played games and tried different kinds of cakes, what fun! ^ ^ When it was @ my house, these were the cakes made:
This is my vintage flower cake. I made it w/ white cake mix topped w/ vanilla frosting w/ mint extract and food coloring. The lil flowers are white and semisweet choc chips ^ ^
My little brother wanted to get in the fun too, but can't really eat wheat. Inspired by the cute monsters that were frequenting on Craftster @ the time, why not a monster cake? We used Pamela's Gluten-Free chocolate cake mix then topped w/ chocolate frosting and the leftover chips. My brother named it Carlin He tasted really good too, you couldn't even tell the difference from normal cakes!
Thanx for looking! The original cake day was started by my friend's brother and sister-in-law in Denver Colorado. The official Cake Day greeting is as follows: One says "Happy Cake Day!" then another replies,"Happy Cake Day indeed!" Yeah, it was taken from "He is Risen!" but we like it!
For Christmas last year, I wanted to make rather than buy gifts. What do do w/ leftover batting and t-shirt scraps? Make sleep masks!
The knockout one was my lil bro's idea and the printed one was done w/ metallic sharpie and a stencil
Here's a country girl and a flower one
An ASL one, again metallic sharpie, and a Marie Antionette-inspired one using teal tulle over butterfly appliques on a white tee material
Dreaming of Superman, and fireflies
And last but not least, mom gave my sis and me satin sleep masks for Christmas. My sis LOVES Breakfast at Tiffany's and she asked if I could make hers like Holly's in the movie(which was a total shock, since my sis is NOT into homemade stuff!) This is how they turned out
I found this sweet iron-on @ Hobby Lobby (LOVE that store!^^), and was dumb and didn't pin it down and had the iron too hot. The result? A partially-scorched-didn't-even-come-on-all-the-way mess! What to do?! Sharpie marker to the rescue to finish what some of the iron-on didn't! I also drew over the wings so they would stand out more too. Yay, saved a tee from the dreaded "craft gone wrong box" I guess it's true when they say there's no mistakes in crafting, only variations!
The design up close. You can see where I drew over the more faded/missing parts
Here I am wearing the tee (the sharpie almost gives the design a 3-d look, no?)
A couple of Christmases ago, I recieved 5 skeins of Sensations' Bellezza collection yarn in Camelia. Being a rookie knitter and owning too many scarfs and legwarmers, I decided that to take a whack @ something new and making a pattern of my own. So I made a cozy for my lil' APS Fuji camera, I'm so happy w/ how it turned out! As soon as a friend of mine saw it, she asked me to make her one for Christmas! *Sigh* now 4 more skeins to use up... any ideas would be fab Anywayz, here it is!
Yeah, the flap looks weird, but it's b/c the sides spreaded out
The two became fast friends
My camera happy in its new home!
Thanx for looking! I wrote the pattern as I went if anyone's interested.
I work @ Target and got this Tab Energy backpack as a prize. It had all those empty squares just waiting to be occupied by something, so why not Space Invaders? Thanx for looking! Sorry about the lighting!
Hi there and welcome to my 1st post! I'm a 22 year old gal from Ohio who fell in love w/ crafting again when I bought a copy of "Generation T" and found this website. I was blown away w/ the incredible amounts of originality shown in each and every post. With lots of gratitude, I had to tell you this: EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU ARE CREATIVE GENIUSES who have taught me that I can welcome, rather than fear, challenges and to create the uncreatable, perfect my style and to make it known and I thank you for that. Just wanted to throw that out Like many, I made most of my Christmas gifts last year. I was inspired by BagginsBaby23's custom My Little Ponies post (make sure to check it out!), so I made my own w/ a sleep mask to match, so here they are!
