finally, the pictures of all of the lovely earrings i received from ayanared.  they are all really different, lots of textures and shapes and techniques...as you will see:

crochet disc earrings in my favorite colors:

pretty twisted pearl dangles:

turquoise and red tear drops:

wooden beads & wire in a twisted spiral:

these are crochet discs with a button that are actually attached to a hook but look like a stud--cute!:

a really lightweight but dramatic earring.  large diamonds made from balsa wood (?maybe? not sure) with shades of pastel blue swirls, giving a marbled effect:

how it looks from afar (to give perspective):

thanks ayanared, i love them all!  each pair is so creative and different.  thanks for all of your time & effort!

the long over due photos of my earrings from wonderwoman1976.  she sent SUPER SUPER fast, it was great.  love them all:
wooden circle with a metal heart

pretty asian style tear drop earring

gold wire wrapped star

this little guy was hard to photograph.  it's a blue glass textured earring

the details aren't captured well, but it's a purple dangle earring with a tear drop bead on the bottom and a pretty rhinestone in the middle

pink beaded hoop earring

thanks for the earrings wonderwoman, they are all fabulous!

here are some not so flattering pics of the headband i made for mizzkodak--she is having some computer problems and ask me to post any pictures i might have:

it's brass colored rosettes, pink chiffon puff, antique lace, and some vintage earrings.  the top has a cute cream colored flower earring that can't be seen in the photos.  it was so much fun to make!
thanks to all of my swap partners!

4  anthropologie statement necklace knockoff swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by keogan42 on: September 15, 2010 07:37:38 AM
i've seen a lot of great tutes out there lately with anthropologie brand inspired designs.  why pay $128 for a statement necklace that you can make?  use tutorials around the net or create your own!

any suggestions or interest?  would people rather expand this into accessories other than necklaces?  or maybe other anthro inspired items other than jewelry, like their t-shirt tops?

and lastly, my headband from cheebz!  it's a really neat headband. she used a thick, heavyweight ivory cardstock type paper and cut it into a detailed feather shape.  to give it effect the edges are ombre dyed a pretty blue.  what you can't see in the photo is the white detailing on the feathers to give it texture, but believe me it's there!  thanks for the pretty headband, cheebz, it's really pretty!
here is a picture of me wearing it, unfortunately this is the only shot that came out with enough detail of the feathers.  the sun kept bleaching out the picture making the feathers look like bright white blobs on my head, but this one gives a good idea of how cool it is:

the paper got a little rumpled during shipping, but that is an easy fix since cheebz provided instructions!

i hope my partners get theirs soon...eeeep!

got my package from jessiesmudge today--yipee!

there was some drama starting out when the post office LOST THE PACKAGE--aarrrgh!  i had to keep calling them about it, and i think we can all close our eyes and imagine this kind of interaction. it was painful. "well ma'am, according to the tracking number, the package is here.  so come pick it up." "yes, that is the problem. it's NOT here or at your office." "well, that sounds like it is the sender's problem.  they will have to deal with it." "no, they got the DC so that this wouldn't happen." "oh, there is a DC number?" "yes, you just used it to look up my package." "oh yes.  well it says here it is in the office for pick up, so just come by." "i WAS just at your office and it WASN'T there..."  and so on.  but finally my package and i were united and these were the things inside:

well, well, well...what have we here?

let's take a closer look:

it looks like coasters!  jessie sews like a professional--look at these!  they came bundled up in a little green ribbon.  once they were set free into the wild this is what i found:

beautiful bright colors that popped against the grey background!  jessie knew my favorite color was grey, so they are PERFECT.  i adore these two patterns together.  these coasters were a great idea and am using one RIGHTNOW.ASITYPE.

next up for presentation is this amazing bag she sewed:

i brought it to work to show my friend and she exclaimed "is that a new vera bradley?"  she is a HUGE vera fan (she had two such bags with her), so she was shocked when i told her my friend in oregon made it for me.  jessie is a true craftswoman. really high quality bag. check out the details inside:

this is perfect for me because i love little bags.  i really do.  it feeds my need to micro-organize. so i have great plans for this little bag already!

so you're probably jealous by now. i don't blame you. i would be, too.  but wait, the last, medium item...which seriously, with all of the work that must have gone into this must make it a large item...a superawesomefantastic quilted puppy blanket!:

look at this!!!  look!  it's amazing.

jessie used the most beautiful stitches.  swirls on the borders and what she called 'stomaching' on the center piece.  it's insane.  and look at the adorable fabric.  it has happy puppies and kitties with hearts, LOVE IT!:

and it came with a puppy:

ok, not really.  but this blanket came just in time.  we just got our new pug puppy, so i had to take a picture of him wrapped in it.  this blanket will be perfect in his little den so that it is warm and soft and snuggy.

i just want to thank jessie for everything--she is an amazing craftster and i am really lucky to have been paired up with her.  i am thankful for all of the things she sent me Smiley  i loved it all, thanks jessie!

(p.s. now i'm REALLY worried that my end sucks...eeek!)

9  navy blue spirals necklace in Beads: Completed Projects by keogan42 on: December 24, 2009 09:00:38 PM
i got this pattern from sandra d. halpenny (check out her site, it's nice).  it's a series of spiny little loops that use a ton of thread.  i think they look like little galaxies or sonic the hedgehog.

the colors didn't photograph well, but it is navy blue, matte silver, and shiny swarovski's. my color scheme was 'starry night' inspired:

and one more shot for the road:

thanks for looking!

here are a couple of christmas gifts that i made this year:

a pretty red, white & shiny wire necklace.  i love making these because they are quick & easy, and come out so beautiful:

this necklace is very sparkly with the swarovski beads, but i couldn't seem to capture it in my photos.  Sad

a simple, delicate necklace with a cute little carved elephant:

blue aurora finish drops simply strung together with blue matte finished seed beads:

hope you enjoy these little trinkets...
