1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Discussion and Questions / hoop modification? on: June 30, 2011 02:54:54 PM
Hello!  I was just given a Brother pe 150.  I would LOVE to try it out, but it didn't come with a hoop.  I have looked into buying one at various online places, including eBay, but don't want to spend that much until I know I actually like the machine.  Would it be possible to make a cheaper hoop work somehow?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Studs, eyelets, grommets. The easy way?!?! on: October 02, 2008 02:16:29 PM
Hello everyone.  I have made corsets for years and set all of the eyelets by hand, which kinda sucks sometimes.  Now I am making a punk styled vest for my BF and bought some 1/4 inch pyramid studs to go on it.  It has turned out to be SO tedious!  I was looking on eBay for a stud setter and ran across this:

Does anyone have one?  How does it work?  Would you recommend it?  Would I be able to set square studs?  Different size grommets/eyelets?

There are a bunch of cheaper bedazzler kind of tools on ebay, but I don't know if they would set the kind of studs I want.  Or eyelets for that matter.  I am looking at this from an investment point of view and would be willing to spend some money on it.  Any information you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Stickers, how do I remove them from fabric?!?! on: September 08, 2008 11:08:33 AM
Hello everyone, I do not know if this is the proper place to post this.  I need help!  Awhile back I was given a bunch of fabric sample books.  I plan on a variety of patchwork projects for these pieces of fabric, but they all have a paper backing which is very hard to remove!

I have tried soaking some of the pieces in warm water but the only the top layer of paper comes off, leaving an ugly white sticky layer to deal with.

Can anyone tell me how to get this stuff off? Huh

Thank! Kiss
