1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Painting telephones on: February 21, 2009 04:53:53 PM
For my painting final last semester, the assignment was to pick an object and paint it in four different styles.  My object was "old-fashioned telephone" and here's what I did!

All four of them together:

First style: Copy an artist's style-- I chose Joan Mir. Acrylic.

Second: Realistic-- this one took me at least 8 or 9 hours to paint. Acrylic.

Third: Decorative

Fourth: Mixed media-- for this one, I wove strips of phonebook paper together, then used yellowpages for the ear pieces, also used acrylic paint.

Any feedback is appreciated-- thanks for looking!
2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Colourful ceramics project-- a few images! on: January 29, 2009 01:24:21 PM
For my ceramics class last semester, I really wanted to try something interesting with the underglazes, so this is what I came up with.  It's all wheel-thrown, coloured with underglaze and a clear glaze over top.

So there you go-- let me know what you think!
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Behold the awesomeness that is my dorm wall! on: January 13, 2008 01:22:47 PM
So, long-time lurker, first-time poster, I just HAD to share my super awesome, amazing looking dorm room wall with you all.

First, I should say that I was inspired by this post:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=172953.0

and headed to the stecilry site to get some inspiration, and heres the result:

Before (Sad, boring, lonely, empty wall):

After (Wall of awesome):

Im so happy with it! I think I might be adding some extra branches to the top of it to make it look less like it was cut out of a rectangular piece of fabric, but otherwise, I adore this.

At first, I was a bit too ambitious and decided to try and hang it up by myself. That was a big mistake.  When I would get the left side to stick, the right side would fall. Then Id try to fix the right side, and the left side would come atumbling down. After struggling for a long time, I called a couple friends over to help meit took three of us to get it up there and straighten it out.

Total time: 2 hours (this includes my stubborn moment of lone ambition)

Total cost: 3 dollars (YES!)

Ive already gotten heaps of requests to help out other people with their decorations! Its so great!

Anywaythanks for reading, let me know what you think!
