My son and a few of his friends have been bugging me to do some of those sports backpacks, the string ones, out of denim. 

The first one was for my son, he asked me to turn it inside out when he saw the lining.  So he has a Green Bay Bag lined with back denim.









I am looking forward to seeing how they come out with denim on the outside of the bag...

Thanks for the comments...I am working on a few more styles I will share them all as I get done.  But I have a ton of sewing sitting around me...

A tutorial, I never thought of it.  I will work on it while doing my next strap.  I will post a link when I am all done.

I made this for my hubby.  He grew up in the St. Louis area and is a huge Cardinals fan.  I saved his old shirts over the years, I only had to cut some extra black fabric, the shirts provided most of the fabric for the top of the quilt.  I still have to tie it (temp till I get my new sewing machine), but we started using it when the temps went below zero, kept us nice and toasty. 







My next quilting project is a twin sized quilt for my son.  I have every Brett Favre jersey he had from the age of about 5.  The center panel will be Favre's packers locker, a picture I took on one of my share holders meetings. I have a June deadline on it, the shirts are cut so I think I will get it done in time.   

The stockings were a great hit with the whole family.  I have been asked to make some more for next year. 

These are great cut from old jeans or even a denim shirt.  I did the smaller ones all from one denim shirt!!!

This year has made a lot of people rethink the holidays, the money spent and well the true meaning of the whole thing.  I mean is this not all so that we can be with the ones we love? 

A few years ago after moving cross country we had a real bad year.  We made almost all of our decorations that year, even doing the old paper chains for the tree and the door ways. 

It set off something in our kids.  They are older, but we still need to make some ornaments each year.  This year the grand-children made bells from egg cartons and jingle bells found at the dollar store and sun catchers made from the tops of pringles cans.  I have some ornaments that are nothing more then one stripe of paint (2 year old kids paint fast), but we love each one!!!

I decided to do personal stockings for a lot of the kids in our family.

First 5 smaller ones for our nieces and nephews...




Then I made a little bigger for my kids and grand-kids, each of my kids have had the same store bought stocking from their first Christmas, so they will love having new stockings.




I still have to put the names on the ones for hubby and myself.  We have never had our own stockings, my hubby is real excited to have them.

I would love to make more, but time is gettomg shorter and shorter.
