In keeping with qazicat's lovely Easter colors:

That's another four skeins of Red Heart down.  The end is in sight!

I was weak - my local yarn shop was having a sale, and I managed to pick up 6 balls of yarn for a song.  The only problem is, only one has a specific project slated for it.  I am telling myself that its okay: they're small and don't take up much room, and I needed some reward after finishing this up earlier in the month.

36 (or more) inches square, which equals two large skeins of Red Heart out the door and off to my Grandmother's church for their never ending lapghan drive.  The total volume of the newly purchased yarn consumes less space than a Red Heart Super Saver, so I think I'm still ahead by a little bit.

Ah the siren call of free yarn.  That's how my stash kept getting so big.

Back from vacation, with only one new ball of yarn in my suitcase, and a bit of de-stashing done.  Giant granny square lapghans make great car-crochet.  Now to unpack the camera for a picture...

Brilliant!  The button closure is a nice touch.
I am inspired to make some to hide my books.  They look perfect for using up fat quarter scraps, and protecting books from getting smashed in my bag.

I adore these mitts from two pages back ..did you come up with the pattern yourself? They look like something I could do if somebody pointed me in the right direction.

Its a really well written pattern and very easy assuming you can count (I often fail at this, as evidenced by the fact that one mitt is slightly larger than the other...).  There's a Norwegian copy of the pattern, and English if you scroll down far enough.

LaughingLark- that scarf is amazing.  I'd be curious whether the effect can be repeated with other variegated yarn, or if it was just a happy chance.

qazicat- thanks for the site.  I shall have to check it out and see if I can make my stash work with it.

Oh so pretty!  I love the deer on the ribbon (?) of the middle one.
