I just ruined a pair of jeans, too.  (The phrases "this day has been well and truly seized" and "wait, how did I kill another pair of pants" go together in my world)  I'm debating whether I should save them for future craftiness, or discard them.  The problem is, I don't usually craft with denim, but there's so much usable fabric there.  This is how stashes get out of hand...

Your versions are so cute!  I don't think I could handle anything that looked closer to the original lurking around, guarding things or not.  But I'm not a starcraft fan, and I would love being over-run with your plushies.  Excellent job!

Thanks!

It's just a disappearing 9-patch.  This is the fourth I've finished using Obsessively Stitching's Tutorial.  I've pretty much got it memorized by now, but it's so much fun seeing how different it looks each time.

I'm going to quietly lurk along with you guys, if you don't mind.  I have no hope of getting 12 quilts done this year, but I can aim for six.  I just finished my first:

I had the same problem with the backing bunching up no matter how many pins I used, so I ended up unpicking the quilting and re-basting it with spray.  It worked so much better.  I don't have a walking foot either, so I kind of rely on the crinkly effect from the shrinkage to hide some of my mistakes.

Those booties are so cute!

I finally have something to show for myself.  I started this back in January but took time off from DeStashing to make a quilt (the batting's from stash, but I'm not sure that counts).  Two more skeins out!

February Themes

deep red wool by simplyla, on Flickr

Color: Red
Pattern: polka-dots
For: A loved one, BFF, or your significant other.
Challenge: Concentrate on the material that makes up the largest portion your stash (by numbers or volume, it's up to you). Perhaps you can make a dent in it this month.

Kookaloo_Starr  I love the idea of the Leaning Tower of Yarnia.  I've just got the yarn cave that lives under my bed.

that1girl  Such cute mini books!  I may be stealing the idea for this years' Valentines.

ysmeine  Neat weaving.  I've never seen it used for bracelets before.

taramor  Those socks look so cozy.

And a few things to add to my measly January DeStash List.

A dozen of these, made as party favors for my grandmother's 81st birthday tea-party.  There were little heart bookmarks that slipped over the back, but I didn't get a picture of those.

And a bookmark that I used as a gift-bow type thing on her birthday present.

So in January I managed to use:
4 skeins of yarn (which were given away as late Christmas presents) 1 skein that was destroyed by moths and 1 skein that was immediately frogged and therefore doesn't count, 7 sheets of scrapbook paper, and 4 sheets of cardstock.

I ended up with 2 more yards of fabric in my stash and one extra ball of yarn.  But then I visited my grandparents, and I swear every one of their friends who knows that I like to craft cleans out their closets when I'm there and I have to take it with me (Have you ever tried saying no to little old Italian ladies trying to give things away?  It can't be done).  So I now have three extra grocery sacks of yarn, and a zillion fat quarters that I'm not quite sure how to use.

One and a half more crafting days 'til February (more or less)!  Time for mad crafting sessions to finish up your January goals, tallying what you've accomplished, and taking pictures of anything that may have slipped through the cracks.

But no pressure.  If you want to just brew a pot of tea and cuddle with your iguana for the remaining hours that's okay too.

Great room! I'll agree that sometimes having a smaller space helps with the organization and getting the creative juices flowing.  Thanks for sharing the paint chip color - I think I'm in love.

Awesome hats!  You have such a great eye for color combos, and I love the embellishments. Thanks for the link.  I'll have to give it a shot if I can find some appropriate fabric in the stash.
