Just a quick clarification question as I start planning how to tackle this semester -

I'm still playing catch-up for Dumbledore's Army and have finally made it into the Lessons with Harry portion.  The catch-up time says 6 weeks, so does that mean I wait 6 weeks between turning in projects or that I have 6 weeks to complete 5 lessons?

Challenge 1: Use the item in your stash that you've had the longest.
Challenge 2: At the end of the month we'll have been DeStashing for 6 months.  Take stock of your stash, tidy it up, and see how you're doing with your goals from January.

One final project before the semester ends!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: May Detention - Finish a WIP
Quidditch: Thread and ribbon were thrift store finds, which I believe earns some kind of points
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Mischa's Dragon-scale Dress
Brief Description: I started this project in March, misplaced it, then found it in time to finish for May detention.  My grandfather gave me a bunch of crochet thread he found at the goodwill, so I've slowly been making my way through it.

Those dresden plates are so cheerful!  Awesome work.  Can't wait to see what they become.

I have a few projects to post before the month ends.  I'm reaching back to April for some of these - I have not been particularly organized or crafty these past few weeks.

Exhibit 1 - Socks!

I don't think I've posted them here, yet.  They're my first pair and took forever!  But they used up nearly two balls of sock yarn I'd been hoarding since 2010.

Exhibit 2 - Doll Dress

I make a lot of these, but they're quick and relatively easy.  (And the dolls don't complain if my finishing techniques are a little wonky.)

Exhibit 3 - Dishcloths

That's two more skeins out of the stash.  I hate to think how long they'd been waiting to be used, probably since my last dishcloth kick 5 years ago.

After a hectic month I'm popping in to add a few quick projects before the semester ends.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Dumbledore's Army Catch-Up - Sign the Parchment
Quidditch: Stash fabric and buttons!  Bludger to Ravenclaw.  (Also thrifted lace sash if such a tiny bit counts)
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Sundress
Brief Description: Looking back at my projects thus far this year, it seems to be mostly doll clothes.  So why fight the trend?  I used to make a wider variety of crafts, but tiny dresses are nearly instant gratification.  This one was supposed to be part of my arithmancy NEWT, but I had to put that on hold for real life nonsense (yay travels and house guests and getting ready to move!).  And of course, just about everything I make is from stash (and yet the stash never seems to get smaller - I have yet to figure out the physics of this phenomenon)

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Divination
SPEW: Made for a fundraiser my grandmother's church is holding for a little boy with cancer.
Quidditch: 2 balls of stash yarn!  Bludger to Slytherin?
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Dishcloths Galore
Brief Description: I looked at the sky at sunset and saw lots of pink and blue and fluffy clouds.  Then I looked in my project bag and saw lots of pink and blue and squishy yarn.

Those granny squares are absolutely gorgeous!  And I love the lining of the slippers.

There is no fail or succeed, only trying (how's that for a reverse Yoda-ism).  We've all set our own de-stashing goals, so you can just switch your area of focus as needed rather than writing off an entire year.  Learning a new craft is awesome!  Soon you'll be able to count those supplies as stash too.  Grin
