Holy cow... is it really October already? What happened to this year?!

Anyways, I know I haven't posted a picture since like... March, but i've been lurking in the shadows, and I have kept up. I have all the Craftster/Ravelry squares done up until September. Plus a few extra squares. Sadly, I'm too lazy to organize it and post which month is which, but here is a photo of my blanket up to date. I'm loving the choices this year!



I'm so happy with how this is turning out. I can't wait to border it and have it laying on my bed come December.

So, I was really excited about getting the march square, so I actually finished it on the 1st. I'm just never took pictures, hehe

So, I'm gonna post some of the other ones I've made. I just finished this pair and decided to put some fun yarn as the bottom. 

I've been wanting arm warmers for a long time. I've also been on the look out for a pattern that would grab me and shout: make me now! Sadly, I was having a hard time of it, so what do we crafty kids do when we can't find a pattern we like? We wing it! And I'm glad I did. This lovely pair whipped up really quick, and was nice and cheap.

The craft store behind my work was selling some of this cheap yarn called "Yarn Gang". It's a 60% cotton 40% acrylic, and it's soft, and cute, and was just enough to make this pair. And even better, it was 99 cents!

I wrote down what I did (kind of) so if anyone is interested I can put my tut up. I'll promise to make another pair to test it out.

TUTORIAL


This pattern uses a Foundation Single Crochet (FSC) to start off.

If that isn't going to work for you, just chain where ever it asks for a FSC.

Materials:
Worsted Weight Yarn (About 2 oz, depending on how long you make them)
5.5 I Crochet Hook

Stitches Used:
FSC - foundation single crochet
SC - single crochet
SS - slip stitch
Dec - Single crochet together
Inc - 2 single crochet in stitch

(Note:: I made this pretty tight. So, if your hands are bigger, just adjust it to fit)

If you have any questions or problems, or find a typo please let me know. :3


Rnd 1: 30 FSC, join w/ ss in 1st ch.
Rnd 2-5: Ch 1, turn clockwise (go the opposite direction) sc 30, ss in first sc.
Rnd 6: Ch 1, turn, sc in next 24 ch.
Rnd 7-12: Ch 1, turn, sc in next 24. (24)
Rnd 13: Ch 1, turn, sc 24, 3 FSC, ss in first sc.
Rnd 14-15: Ch 1, turn, sc in every st, ss in first sc. (27)
Rnd 16: Ch 1, turn, sc, dec [5 sc, dec]x3, 3 sc, ss in first sc.
Rnd 17-18: Ch 1, turn, sc in every st. (23)
Rnd 19: Ch 1, turn, sc, inc [5 sc, inc]x3, 3 sc, ss in first sc.
Rnd 20: ch 1, turn, sc in every st. ss in first sc. (27)
Repeat Rnd 20 until it is the length you want, just keep track of how many you make so that your other arm warmer matches

The cream top is just a sc in every st.
For the bottom I did one row of DC, and then two rows of FPDC, BPDC, all the way around. Just plain sc also works. Just do whatever feels right.

Doesn't it make a ridge on the back?

not that is horribly noticeable.

you can see a ridge, but it's hard to notice. at least in my opinion.

finished feb! can't wait for march

Oh boy oh boy, I'm happy to say I'm gonna be around for this one as well! I never finished last years, but I think it was because I didn't like the colors I used. However, this year I've got the colors i'm using planned out, and I'm loving them so far.

I finished January today, and started feb.

And so, the idea to cross stitch her favorite line for her to forever enjoy seemed perfect for christmas. Even more awesome was that it only took a couple hours! Woot!

The frame are for sharing a sisters love or something, so I covered it in some pretty paper that was close to the colors I chose. She loves lime green, and the blue was too pretty not to use.

well, I've finally caught up to september! YAY! Only 2 months left to do and I'll be ready for the final square. Sorry the pic is kinda crappy, had to use my phone.

So ladies, how does it feel so be so close to done? All the squares I've seen look amazing, can't wait to see all the finished projects.
