21  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Renaissance Festival Garb for Irish Weekend on: September 19, 2010 06:15:12 PM
It was Irish weekend at the MD Renaissance Festival. Hubby & I made new garb for this season.

My Garb

I made everything, the Chemise, Bodice & both skirts. Hubby made my walking stick. The boots and ring belt were purchased.

The bodice is reversible with the plaid fabric on the other side. Worn with just the wine colored skirt, it doubles as a second costume. I'll take pics of the other side on my dress form, but was excited to post pics of what I had.

I made the green shirt & black pants. The Gambison, boots & clay pipe were purchased.
We made the Bracers & Sachel bag were made from hubby's old motorcycle jacket and rabbit fur that he has had since he was a boy scout.

22  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Do you play Croquet? on: June 06, 2010 06:10:46 PM
I actually made this purse to take to Hon Fest in Baltimore next weekend.
http://www.honfest.net/
I also think it might double as a nice addition to an Alice in Wonderland or Queen of Hearts costume too. I looked for some sort of plush flamingo pattern I could modify, but didn't find anything, so I drafted the pattern myself.

I added zippers to the wings to make extra pockets too.

23  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Flamingo Plushie Pattern? on: May 25, 2010 06:08:50 AM
I've looked high and low for a stuffed flamingo sewing pattern, but can't seem to find one. Anyone know where I might be able to get one? I thought I'd try here before attempting to draft my own.

24  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Is that Ed Hardy? A Rockabilly Tattoo Top on: May 22, 2010 08:18:56 PM
I made this top using some fabric I got from my SIL. Both times I've work it I've had people stop & ask if it was Ed Hardy Grin To which I proudly answered, no, I made it! Anyway on to the pics.

26  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Jagermeister Purse on: February 16, 2010 08:37:39 AM
A few weeks ago I made a purse shaped like a Beer Mug. This prompted a request from my friend for a Jager Purse. Based on her size specs, this is what I came up with.

27  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / He's too much....Heatmiser Ornament on: February 14, 2010 02:26:14 PM
I had this yarn in my stash, that I thought would be perfect for the heat miser from The Year Without a Santa Claus. Just have to find the right shaped Christmas "Ball" to make a matching Snow Miser.

28  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Baltimore Blizzard Photo on: February 11, 2010 12:14:29 PM
I took this photo from our second story office/sewing room window on Sunday from round 1 of the Blizzard that hit Baltimore.

The snow from the night before had nearly covered the entire window and I was so happy to see the sun as it started melting away the snow.

29  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Suggestions for "Cruise Wear" on: February 07, 2010 06:43:56 PM
My husband & I will be going on a Cruise in October with his family for our anniversaries. I've never been on a cruise before. I want to make some things for the trip, but don't know where to start. I'm thinking maybe a sundress or 2, a dinner dress and maybe some accessories like a sun hat or 'beach bag.'

Anyone here been on a cruise before that might have some suggestions?
30  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Shamrock-polka-dot Top on: February 07, 2010 06:34:41 PM
Inspired by sorbetsurprise's cupcake top posted here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=334790.0 I picked up New Look 6900. My version didn't turn out as cute as her cupcake one, but it will do alright for the bar St. Patricky's Day. I had to take this one in a size though. I followed what should have been the appropriate size for my measurements, but it was too big. I'll make the next smaller size with my next run at this pattern.

I thought the length could have been a little longer too, I skipped adding a hem on this one and just surged the bottom edge. Next time I'll just adjust for a longer length. Otherwise I like the pattern, just think it needs some tweaks.
