181  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Convertible Car stencil needed on: January 15, 2006 06:21:23 AM
I'm looking for a stencil of a convertible car preferably a VW Cabrio or VW Bug. I can't seem to find one and I've tried making one from photos I've found, but just can't seem to get one that works as a stencil.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Grin
182  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Nightmare Before Christmas earrings & necklace 2 sets on: January 01, 2006 05:04:05 PM
I've been inspired to make some Nightmare Before Christmas things lately so I decided to use some of those flat marbles that I seem to have tons of.
I've had some questions about how I made these, so I've updated to add

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v200/dayzik/nbc_dangle_earrings.jpg

The flat marble has a pic glued to it with regular elmer's gule, then it is attached with e6000 glue to a flat washer with a bit of wire bit between the marble & the washer so that it has something to hang on.

These are glued with e6000 to flat earring posts.

I used a flat marble & glued the pic to it with elmer's glue & then glued a piece of cardstock to the back of that. Then wrapped the marble with wire and strung it on the spiderweb ribbon.

This marble is glued to a jewelry finding that is meant to hold gems or rhinestones, it already had the design & hook on the finding.

183  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Bon Jovi Smirk Duct Tape Purse on: January 01, 2006 09:47:24 AM
My sis & I went to see Bon Jovi in Philly and I made us these purses to take to the concert. They were a big hit at the show and even with non Jovi fans when we ate out before the show.

It's made entirely out of duct tape with grommets to attach the straps.

184  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Bon Jovi Smirk Felt guy/ pincushion on: January 01, 2006 09:33:04 AM
I wasn't sure exactly where to put this, but here it is. I'm a huge Bon Jovi fan and I had some red & black felt just laying around so, I decided to make a smirk (the little guy logo for their new cd)

If I can bare to stick the cute little guy with pins, I may just use it as a pin cushion.

185  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Nightmare Before Christmas Jack Scarf on: January 01, 2006 09:24:19 AM
I picked up this black and white striped scarf at the Dollar Tree (I can't knit myself...but hope to learn someday) and it was screaming to be embellished with Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Just a simple felt Jack hand sewn to the scarf, but I love it!

186  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Got Shoes? Reconed Hoodie (img heavy) on: December 28, 2005 04:08:22 PM
I was inspired by the post by kittell here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=50468.0 to make reconstruct this hoodie for my shoe obsessed little cousin for Christmas.

I added a flip flop iron on, lined the hood with satin shoe fabric attached a shoe shaped zipper pull & replaced the pull string with a purple ribbon

Zipper Pull reads Got Shoes?

187  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Black Pinstripe Dress w/ black lace on: December 23, 2005 03:48:14 PM
I saw this pinstripe fabric at Walmart for $1/yard and had to have it. I created this dress with Burda 8128 and a few modifications.

It looks great with black tights and black knee high boots, I'm thinking it might also work over pants/jeans too but I haven't tried it yet.
188  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Help! Need a pattern for 2xl mens pjs on: November 23, 2005 06:58:53 AM
I found this great 80's Hulk Hogan cartoon wrestling sheet while thrift shopping that is just screaming to be made into a pair of pj pants for my cousin for Christmas. I can't seem to find a pattern for pj pants large enough, he wears a 2xl. Most of the ones I'm finding only go up to xl. Anyone know where I can get or who makes a 2xl pattern?  If worse comes to worse, I'll just by a pair of 2xl pjs and use them as a pattern. But thought I'd ask here first.

189  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Help me revamp a dresser turned craft cabinet on: November 05, 2005 04:22:44 PM
I received this old, ugly, green and white dresser from my sis's boyfriend as he was just going to throw it out. I saw it's potential to become my craft cabinet. It's working out great with room for my sewing machine & for me to cut, work, and store things but I can't decide how to revamp it.

I want it to still match my room, which has mostly medium brown stained wood furniture, black decopaged trunk and I have blue striped themed bedding (shades of blue, white & black). I was thinking of painting the dresser black as the hardware on my tv cabinet is black and so are most of the frames on my walls, but that might just be too plain. I was even thinking of laying a piece of plexiglass on the top so that I could place a yardstick between the 'glass' and the dresser top and maybe a few things for inspiration.  I don't want to paint stripes on the dresser, but I'm stumped for ideas.

Any Suggestions??

190  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / High Heeled Shoe Purse on: October 23, 2005 02:48:49 PM
My little cousin's 11th birthday is coming up and her favorite things are shoes. She is always interested in seeing what things I've crafted when she visits and once said to me that she thought I could probably even make a purse out of a shoe. So, I took that as a challenge and decided to create a shoe purse for her, using a high heeled shoe, dollar store purse, & a belt that I found with shoe & purse bottle caps for the strap.

I embroidered "I <3 Shoes" with a shoe outline on it.

I can't wait to give it to her! Comments or criticism welcomed.
