1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Trick or Treat! Nightmare Before Christmas - Lock, Shock & Barrel on: November 08, 2012 06:23:56 PM
We spent Halloween at Disney for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween. Rather than go with the more 'traditional' Jack & Sally for a Nightmare Before Christmas themed Costume. Hubby & I decided to be Lock, Shock & Barrel.

Being only 2 of us, Lock was represented by a plush character from my NBC collection.

My Shock costume
Mask: created out of felt, fabric stiffener & binder clips to hold the shape while things dried.
Hat: wire & costume satin
Dress: NBC T-shirt I already owned, Cotton A-line skirt handmade.

Barrel:
Mask: Plastic hockey mask purchased and modified; filled holes, cut new ones, and painted white & mouth details.
Clothing: Plain black t-shirt purchased and hand stenciled w/ acrylic paint mixed fabric medium.

We had so much fun with the costumes! And it was awesome when we were spotted by other NBC fans & Disney Cast Members.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Punky plaid messenger bag on: August 12, 2011 08:42:12 PM
My hubby has been taking classes and needed something to tote his books & laptop back & forth to school. So I created this messenger bag without a pattern, just a few requests to separate the laptop section, add a zipper pocket and a side pocket for the power adapter.

The Zombie Survival, COC & Ministry patches I embroidered all the others my hubby has had for awhile.

I created this for my sisters birthday. Started out with a plain purchased hoodie and embellished it with the stenciled hood and lined it with leopard print fabric and added the heart applique.

6  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Marilyn Monroe Embroidered Tote Bag on: June 19, 2011 01:49:59 PM
Digitized an image of Ms. Monroe and embroidered onto a purchased tote bag for my sister's B-day. Now I just need to wrap it so I'm not tempted to give it to her between now and her B-day in Sept.

7  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / From Billboard to Embroidery - Baltimore Royalty on: June 04, 2011 10:55:33 AM
I love the ad campaign here in Baltimore for Smyth Jewelers featuring Mr. Boh (the mascot for National Bohemian Beer)& the Utz girl (mascot for Utz Potato Chips) so much that they were the cake toppers for my wedding several years ago. I recently got an embroidery machine and decided I must make something with these 2 mascots.
Using digitizing software I was able to edit the image and make an embroidery pattern for my Brother machine.

Now I just need to decide what I want to attach this patch to.

Comments, questions & criticism welcomed :-)

Picked up this shirt at Hot Topic, but it was huge. Using a second solid black t-shirt I turned this into a fitted t-shirt more to my liking. Before & After Pics Below

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Daisy Cork Necklace on: May 22, 2011 07:21:38 AM
I tend to make things for other people or for my shop, but rarely get around to making something just for me. So I decided I needed a summery pendant. Pulling some stickers from my scrapbook stuff that I rarely use, a cork, some washers, an eye screw, a regular screw and strung it on some hemp cording.

Comments & criticism welcomed. :-)
