22  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Attaching a Peacock Feather to a Locket Front on: March 17, 2011 07:15:31 AM
My best friend recently lost her grandmother. Peacock feathers have always reminded her of her grandmom so I thought it would be nice to put a pic of her grandmom in a locket with a feather attached to the front.

Similar to this, but on a locket.

Can anyone recommend a good glue for attaching the feather to the front? I usually use e6000 for attaching cameos and things, but I'm not sure if this is the best idea for the feather.

Any suggestions for a cover on top of the feather to seal? Would something like Alleene's Paper Glaze work?

Any thoughts would be greatly apprecitated. I really want to make sure this turns out nice and not look like something that was just thrown together. I've never really worked with feathers before though.

23  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Jameson's Snow Day Dog Coat on: February 27, 2011 03:50:52 PM
I have a boston terrier and since boston's only have the one coat, he tends to shiver if we take him out in the cold. He had a fleece coat that my mil had bought him, but the red plaid and fuzzy collar left him looking like the Brawny man. So, I took that coat and used it as a pattern to make him a new coat. Let's hope this one gets less weird looks then the Brawny coat.
I'm starting with this pic because it makes me laugh. He was mid lick from a treat I gave him.

I'm not sure why I hadn't seen this before, but it's awesome! I might have to hit up the local cigar shop for some boxes and try this out.
