11  Ugly Faded Green Directors Chair Made New in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by dayzi on: May 22, 2011 07:00:23 AM
I hit the Goodwill with my sis a few weeks ago and scored this collapsible directors chair. The paint was all chipped and the canvas was really faded. A little sanding, a few coats of paint and some new canvas and I now have a new chair.

12  Reversible Beatles Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by dayzi on: April 09, 2011 08:06:23 PM
My SIL gave me some Beatles fabric for Christmas, but I've been waiting for the perfect project to use it. I stumbled onto a pattern from Very Purple Person http://verypurpleperson.com/2010/04/reversible-bag-pattern.html and knew this was it.

I modified the pattern to add an iron on patch, 2 zipper pockets and a button & loop closure.

13  Attaching a Peacock Feather to a Locket Front in Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions by dayzi on: March 17, 2011 07:15:31 AM
My best friend recently lost her grandmother. Peacock feathers have always reminded her of her grandmom so I thought it would be nice to put a pic of her grandmom in a locket with a feather attached to the front.

Similar to this, but on a locket.

Can anyone recommend a good glue for attaching the feather to the front? I usually use e6000 for attaching cameos and things, but I'm not sure if this is the best idea for the feather.

Any suggestions for a cover on top of the feather to seal? Would something like Alleene's Paper Glaze work?

Any thoughts would be greatly apprecitated. I really want to make sure this turns out nice and not look like something that was just thrown together. I've never really worked with feathers before though.

I've developed a thing for Spoon Jewelry lately. This is for my husband's Aunt Mary for Christmas.

Made from a spoon end, ribbon, jewelry clasp & jump ring.

16  Mickey Mouse Wreath in Winter Holidays by dayzi on: November 27, 2010 07:49:23 AM
My sis is a huge fan of all things Disney. I made this for her for Xmas. Made with 3 wreaths, wire & some ribbon. I was thinking of placing the bow by one of the ears for a Minnie Mouse version, but she prefers Mickey.

I've been adding NBC ornaments to my collection little by little. This is this year's addition.

18  Fleur de lis Spoon Earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by dayzi on: November 27, 2010 07:02:27 AM
Made my Mother-in-law a spoon bracelet for her b-day and still had some spoons lying around, so I made some matching earrings for Christmas.

I'm thinking a pendant might be in order too.

Here is an action shot from HonFest today. I need to work on bigger hair for next year though.

20  Do you play Croquet? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by dayzi on: June 06, 2010 06:10:46 PM
I actually made this purse to take to Hon Fest in Baltimore next weekend.

I also think it might double as a nice addition to an Alice in Wonderland or Queen of Hearts costume too. I looked for some sort of plush flamingo pattern I could modify, but didn't find anything, so I drafted the pattern myself.

I added zippers to the wings to make extra pockets too.
