1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / New Years Eve slippers on: January 01, 2011 10:42:03 PM
My roommate and I decided to make slippers yesturday.  They took about 12 hours all together, with some breaks, and pretty much took over my New Years Eve plans.  Nothing like staying home with Ken (my trusty Sears Kenmore machine)...

They are super warm.  The fabric is little cowboy boots and a gingham plaid for the edging and ties.  They have foam bottoms and nubby plasticy stuff on the sole for grip.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Harf or Scoodie on: January 01, 2011 10:39:45 PM
This would be either a harf (hat/scarf) or scoodie (scarf/hoodie).  It was from a pattern that my friend brought over, so I am not sure what it was called, but it was super easy.  The outer fabric is some sort of plasticy fake leather and the inside is a fuzzy, fleecy, furry kind of stuff.

whole thing:

and since it just got down into the 20's where I live, I am really getting use out of this!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Shadowbox Heart on: February 13, 2010 12:19:25 PM
So I found this pattern to make a stuffed tattoo mom heart.  As I started making it for my bf, I realized that he didnt need just another thing to have sitting around.  So I made it in 2D instead and put it in a shadow box with t-pins, the kind used for dissections, specimens, and apparently quilting.  The picture isnt so good, but you get the idea...

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / First sewing project on: September 14, 2009 10:45:13 PM
Hi everyone.

I am usually in the knitting section, so this is exciting for me!  I decided to learn how to use my roommates sewing machine this weekend.  I have this thing which I call Fear of Craft Failure.  It involves buying all the supplies for new projects but being too scared that they will come out awful that you don't even bother trying.  It's awful I know...

Anyway, I got some fabric and was like - darn it, i am going to make a bag.  So I found a bag pattern on the blog - tiny happy.  And I made it.  And I think it's pretty cute!

and the pocket:
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / i knit a lobster! on: January 14, 2009 11:15:00 PM

http://dirigo.wordpress.com/2007/12/17/free-pattern-toy-lobster/ and decided to try it...

hope you like it!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Tis the season of the cowl on: November 21, 2008 05:06:46 PM
Seriously, cowls seem to be everywhere on the knitting boards.  I still don't see them much in stores (like target), but give it time...

This is basically just a stockingnet stitch cowl.  I used Malabrigo chunky in "sealing wax", which is an amazing color.  The photo doesnt really do it justice.  But needless to say, I have a whole bunch of people who want one and it took about a movie and a half of half paying attention to what I was doing to knit it.

the holes are from increasing a bit, using the M1 increase:
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Ear Flap Hat! on: November 11, 2008 06:42:26 PM
So this is sort of the Swell hat from Knitty, although I didn't do any of the pattern work (the wave or the peace sign).  The basic pattern was worked from the Swell pattern.  It's pretty plain but I like it.  PS.  the colors didnt come out fantastically because the lighting in my apartment is very yellow, but it is a dark green...

and one with the color a bit easier to see:

and yeah, the creepy wig head has an eye patch.  go figure.

Hope you all like it!
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / maine morning mitts on: September 23, 2008 09:52:19 PM
just finished these fingerless gloves, the maine morning mitts:

www.knittersreview.com/Maine_Morning_Mitts.pdf

i know this pattern was posted here a while ago and apparently can't find it.  also, the thumbs are looking funky on mine.  it was the first time i have picked up and knitted something like that.  but regardless, they do the trick.  no clue what yarn it is, got it at a yard sale.  the colors are crap in these photos, the color is much brighter.

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my first cable! on: June 10, 2008 11:19:30 AM

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / tea cozy hat gone wrong, but ok wrong on: February 27, 2008 07:31:34 PM
Hello all, this is my first post.  Woohoo!

So I decided to finally overcome my fear of double pointed knitting.  I tried the tea cozy hat from http://woollywormhead.blogspot.com/.  Apparently my gauge was totally off, or I used yarn that wasnt stretchy enough or something.  So it turned out a little too small for an adult head, and I dont know any appropriately sized children...

The tea cozy hat just became a toilet paper cozy!

Please ignore the totally awkward look on my face...

Hope you all like it!
