Would anyone know where I could find a pattern for a life sized (or not...I could blow it up) guitar. i was planning on making one for my boyfriend for Christmas. Even if it is a pattern for a small one that would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

43  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / What would you pay? on: March 05, 2008 11:11:36 AM
What would you be willing to pay for these?

I was thinking about pricing these for about five to seven dollars... I think that covers for man hours (about a half hour each one) as well as supply cost.

Fabric is just remnants or clearance items from Joann's as well as leftover from other projects.
Snaps are about 2.00 a package.

Tell me What you think.

44  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Is it legal? on: February 25, 2008 08:00:44 PM
Would it be legal to sell wallets made from cloth bought at places like Joann's?

and would it be legal to sell like...tea wallets? since that is an idea that has already been created?

48  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Kakashi Cosplay (femaaaaaale) on: January 08, 2008 05:51:45 PM
So I went to Anime Boston over the summer.

I decided to go as a female (SNJ for all you Naruto fans) Kakashi...

So here's my costuuuume!

Pardon the hand...but that is my earring i made with some bells (if you read the manga you should know)

I made book covers out of orange paper and colored the covers of Kakashi's favorite books on them. I covered MY favorite mangas with them, so they were fully functional whee!!

The gloves were batters gloves that i think i bought at target. my mom works for a company that makes plastics and she brought me home a sample of silver sheet plastic. it was shiny on one side so i used that for the plates oh his fingerless gloves (hot glue)

Also...the shoes i made by hand out of old flip flops and some cloth. they held up very well for those three days, but they did begin to split at the seams towards the end.

The leg wrappings were just medical gauze, and the kunai leg pouch was a toy set that i bought at target..it came with a ninja a$$ pouch also..with kunai and shuriken!

Finally a picture of me reading in the elevator that my friend took...my friends faces are blurred out just for privacy reasons

(I'm not sure if this goes here...but i figured, its clothes, it isn't for halloween, and its completed...)

Tell me what you think!!
thanks!

--EDIT--

okay i forgot to mention...the pants are from a consignment store i went to. the shirt i sewed myself. the armbands i also sewed myself. there are red and black swirls on the back of my shirt and on the armbands that i made from thick red cloth and black rope (for the shirt one) and red cloth and black marker (for the smaller armband ones) the headband is bought there at the convention
49  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Painted Converse -- these are a few of HIS favorite things -- Img Rotund on: January 07, 2008 09:00:32 AM
This is my first post, and I wasn't sure if this was post worthy, but I hope it is...

So for Christmas, I wanted to do something really special for my boyfriend...something homemade and something that would show all the best times we've had. He had been saying that he wanted a new pair of converse..so I made him some

^^

the shoes, just bought...they are still virgin shoes.

we all (my group of friends and I) have a thing for ninjas...and sarku japan is his favorite food court restaurant.

At friendly's he always gets mint chocolate chip sundaes.

i tried to paint his fender strat guitar...it came out alright i suppose

One of the first times we ever hung out, we toasted marshmallows over a little hibachi grill

His favorite soda is mountain dew...so i did the dew.

Finally...on the toes of the shoes i painted my eye and his eye.

Mine

His

and one last picture for laughs...

this is my shoe inside of his shoe...

I'm a little upset that i don't have pictures of the finished product...next time he comes over, i'll get some photos.

(sorry the pictures are bad, i did all this in college and didn't have my camera.)
50  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Faerie Clothes? on: January 04, 2008 08:25:12 AM
Hello,

(I posted this on a different site also, but I wanted to make sure I've asked a lot of people so I get good results)

I'm new here and I joined with the hopes that one of you lovely people may be able to help me.

I have been searching HIGH and LOW for something to help me, and I even asked on Yahoo! Answers, but no one (so far!) can help.

Does anyone know...of a site...that can help me, or give me ideas (or if any of you have done a project that is similar) on how to create faerie clothes out of fake flowers, real flowers, and other plant materials?

I am making plaques for my sister (who is an avid faerie collector with a whole shrine in a quarter of her living room devoted to faeries) with decoupaged paper as the background, and a sculpted faerie attached, so it is like a 3d picture. Now, for these sculpted faeries...I need to make clothes, I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to make the clothes in the way I described.

All I can find is sites on making costumes for humans, or making paper dolls. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!!
Kate
