41  Peggle Shirt For a Friend in Stenciling: Completed Projects by Kochopia on: January 18, 2010 01:46:59 PM
I have been at home for winter break for a month or so now, and I've been making Christmas gifts for friends because of low funding for this year. One of my friends loves the Popcap game Peggle, and it is basically one of the best games ever.

I decided to make him a shirt, with his favorite Peggle master on it...

Progress Shots

I used freezer paper and fabric paint to make the design...not too bad if I do say so myself.

Thanks for looking!

42  Scrump pillow in Stenciling: Completed Projects by Kochopia on: January 18, 2010 12:55:22 PM
My friend Carol is a Marine Biology major...and she sent me a video (this one actually --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ebjtxqbil0 ) and I decided to make her a pillow based on this video.

She just recently finished a yellow and green quilt for her room at school, so I made the pillow a bright yellow fabric. It was my first attempt at using freezer paper to make a stencil and I Love it! It is so easy to use.

Thanks for looking!

43  Demoman Team Fortress 2 Plush! (Pic Tubby) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Kochopia on: January 18, 2010 12:47:57 PM
I've been home for winter break for more than a month...and due to lack of money, I have been spending my time making gifts for people. One of which is a Demoman from Team Fortress.

I have spent...SO much time on this project...it has been very stressful.

Here is the finish product in his cap

and because (if you are familiar with the game) there are multiple hats you can put on your characters, I decided it would be absolutely hilarious to make him an afro.

I had to find a mushroom pattern and modify it to make it into a hat.

Then I decided to play around with him a bit and added a few details. One, the smiley face under his clothes (again if anyone is familiar with the game) that he shows when he taunts another player

aaaaaand finally, just for laughs, I put something under the eyepatch....and what is better than a CYBORG EYE!!!

And just for fun, here are some progress shots

I was planning on making him a bottle of whiskey or rum or whatever it is, but I couldn't figure out how to make it correctly. Anyway, thank you for looking!!

44  Headcrab!!! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Kochopia on: December 19, 2009 08:49:46 PM
This summer I was on a Half Life kick and had one hell of a time making this for my friend. It took me FOREVER to sew, and the directions (in my opinion) were really, really confusing. I feel like it came out awesome though!

(P.S. I have a Gordon Freeman plush too if you have not seen it yet)

unfortunately I did not get any pictures of it from the top...basically it is just mottled gray, purple, and browns

aaand a funny/not very good picture of me (us) together!!

45  The Freeman in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Kochopia on: December 16, 2009 04:53:47 PM
I've always made plushies for other people and for once I decided it was high time for me to make one for myself. So while I was on a Half Life kick, I decided to make a Gordon Freeman plush!

Oh I love him so...(p.s. sorry its blurry)

EDIT: and I must say that Gordon doesn't ever talk, or have any expression what-so-ever but I think deep inside, Gordon is a big Goofball. I mean he is a physicist...

46  Pattern Idea Help (suggestions greatly welcomed) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions by Kochopia on: August 17, 2009 07:44:30 AM
I'm making gifts for the summer and I asked one of my friends if he could have any three things in Plushie form, what would they be? (thinking that...well if the first two are impossible at least there is a third!) and he said three really impossible things.

One, from a video game he's played, isn't so bad, and here it is...cute...isn't it....?

(image thanks to someone on deviantart)

My only issue is, I don't know what to use for the pattern, and I'm not good at making my own...

Any suggestions?

47  Team Fortress 2 Sticky Bomb in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Kochopia on: August 08, 2009 09:14:40 AM
Like I said in an earlier post, I've been making gifts for my college friends to keep me busy this summer. This is one i was working on for a really long while.

Byron LOVES team fortress 2. Absolutely loves it, so I decided to make him a sticky bomb from it. BLU team of course. I found the pattern online and let me tell you, that is a LOT of handsewing.

I put magnets (really strong ones) into the ends of all the spikes so the sticky bomb actually sticks.

Again it is sitting on my super crowded desk...but hey. If I could change one thing about it, it would be to make the spikes smaller, they are just way too big.

...Action shot?

Comments appreciated!

Blessed Be!

48  ...Claudio Sanchez Plush! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Kochopia on: August 08, 2009 08:47:46 AM
Well, it's summertime and I decided that I needed to keep busy this year. No more moping around the house bored out of my mind! So I decided to make a few of my college friends some gifts!

Well my friend Walter is absolutely in love with the band Coheed and Cambria so in honor of that, I made him a baby Claudio Plushie that he can squeeze and hug all he wants. Well I found myself a good pattern online, tweaked it a bit to my liking, and got to work.

I don't have many photos of the finished product...and excuse the mess on my desk I was being a very busy girl!

That hair...TOOK FOREVER. It was loose doll hair, I clumped it and hot glued clumps individually onto his head.

Well suffice to say, he absolutely loved it...and it is now sitting on his shelf with all of his other Coheed collections at home. He did say he was going to bring it with him back to his dorm this semester though!

50  What would you pay? in Get Product and Website Opinions by Kochopia on: March 05, 2008 11:11:36 AM
What would you be willing to pay for these?

I was thinking about pricing these for about five to seven dollars... I think that covers for man hours (about a half hour each one) as well as supply cost.

Fabric is just remnants or clearance items from Joann's as well as leftover from other projects.
Snaps are about 2.00 a package.

Tell me What you think.
