1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Dexter Nails on: October 10, 2012 12:14:53 PM
I had been thinking about creating Dexter inspired nails for around Halloween, but I wasn't sure what to do.  Last night I was inspired by the colors of the blood slides, so I used Gelish "Bashful" to create a nude (nearly clear) base and used Gelish "Hot Rod Red" to do the french tips and the blood spots.  I tried to keep them neat (So I could wear them to work without them seeming too bloody and creepy).  I need some more practice applying french tips with a brush..this was the first time I didn't use stickers/tape as a guide.  Hope you like them!

6  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Philadelphia Phillies Nails on: July 19, 2012 08:31:52 AM
Hey everyone!

I just finished my nails in preparation for attending a Phillies game this weekend Smiley  I just wanted to share!

I did them using Gelish polishes, which are very similar to Shellac.  If you are getting Shellac or Gelish nails done at the salon all the time, I recommend investing in an LED curing lamp and trying it at home!  Took some practice, but within 3 manicures I've got the process down!

Annnnyway, on to my nails!

I used Gelish "Ooba Ooba Blue" for the majority of my nails, but created the baseballs using "Sheek White" and "Hot Rod Red"

The Phillies logo came from a temporary tattoo set I got on Amazon.  Just transfer to the nail like you would onto skin!  Then a topcoat of Gelish "Top it off".  I also used two coats of "Structure" for thickness and strength, because I have super bendy nails.

Hope you like it!

Any suggestions for future attempts? I'm pretty new at doing my own nails with Gelish, and  I think my baseballs could be cleaner looking.

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Various wall art on: July 10, 2012 10:16:55 AM
Gorgeous!! I love it!

I've lived a few places that were picky about holes in the wall..I always just punched holes anyway and then prior to moving out I spackled and touched up the areas before they inspected.  This only works well if the walls are a plain white. I've also asked them what paint color they used in case I needed to do any touch ups prior to moving out, and they will usually share that with you.  In most cases its just them trying to avoid doing any work when you move out.
