31  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: Best Fabric Paint for Pillow? on: January 26, 2012 10:17:33 AM
I've had good luck with Golden Fabric Medium - I've used it on cotton shirts 3-4 years ago and they haven't peeled or faded. You just mix it in to regular acrylic paint to make any color fabric paint you'd like.

How about a black dress with neon piping? Something like this: http://us.asos.com/ASOS-Petite/ASOS-PETITE-Exclusive-Bodycon-Dress-With-Cut-Out-Back-Detail/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1993289&cid=4177&Rf959=3268&sh=0&pge=3&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Black
33  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Question regarding measurements on: January 23, 2012 04:44:25 PM

I'm using instructions that basically tell you how to draft your own pattern for a shirt... I understand the instructions very well but I've run in to a huge problem.  No matter how many times I draft and redraft, measure and remeasure, my pattern always ends up way too big.

Is it too big after it's sewn or does it look too big beforehand?

I looked up size charts online to see if my measurements matched up with the size clothing I buy and even that is off!  According to most size charts I should be wearing a size 26!  I'm a size 18/20 in tops and 16/18 in bottoms!

Pattern sizing has totally different system than off-the-rack clothes. My size in a pattern is eight higher than it is in normal clothes, so your measurements sound perfect!

This is adorable, great job! My first attempt at an invisible zipper was... not cute.

I also went to a second-hand store and to my surprise found a cheap round lamp that works perfectly for a bob-omb! Already have black spray so now all i have to do is buy a lampshade and get started Smiley

Ahh, you have to post the bob-omb lamp when you finish! It sounds so cute.

The baby-mohawk just kills me. Adorable.

This sounds like it was actually much easier than it looks.
