1  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ MAR on: March 11, 2008 07:53:43 PM
I realized I never posted my February square on here, so here's February and March.  The colors on these two don't seem to go together, but it'll make sense when everything's put together (hopefully)!  Smiley

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sugar 'N Cream yarn for 33 at Michael's on: January 23, 2008 06:43:37 PM
Woohoo, which Michael's is this?  Always lookin' for a bargain!

I live in Chicago, and it was the one in the Village Crossing shopping center in Skokie.  I thought that their prices might be programmed in nationally, though, so I thought that other stores might have it for the same price.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Sugar 'N Cream yarn for 33 at Michael's on: January 20, 2008 02:10:57 PM
I hope this is the right place to post this, but I just went to Michael's to buy some Sugar 'N Cream yarn, and it rang up only 33, even though it was marked $1.69.  The cashier said that they were probably discontinuing the colors.  It was the smaller size (2.5 oz), and the colors I bought were Rose Pink (UPC: 057355083073) and Rosewood (UPC: 057355277328).  I'm not sure if any other colors would also be marked down.  Thought I'd pass it on just in case someone else needed some!
4  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ JAN on: January 19, 2008 10:06:45 PM
Finally finished my Dreamcatcher square and my filler square.  I had to add an extra round of dc to my Dreamcatcher square in order to get it to measure 12".  The pattern for my filler square is called Maggie's Square and can be found here: http://www.heartmadeblessings.org/patterns/Maggiessquare.asp

I'm in Chicago, and it's freezing here!  I wish I had the whole blanket done already so I could hide under it.   Smiley

That's so cute!  I love how it looks with the stalks tied up!
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Felted Bag on: January 09, 2008 04:58:52 PM
This was my first attempt at felting, and I'm relieved it didn't turn out the size of a doll's purse.  I followed a pattern I found here: http://wildyarn.blogspot.com/2006/01/felted-memo-bag-corrected.html and loved the idea of using quilt bias binding as a strap (which worked very well).  It was all done with Paton's Classic Wool, and before felting it measured about 13" by 12".  After felting it measured about 8" square.  To felt it, I ran it through a hot wash with a pair of old jeans, and it was done after only 15 minutes.

Here's a picture of it closed before felting:

And after felting:

7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Evil Minions (with pattern) on: January 09, 2008 02:05:42 PM
So cute (the bunnies and the kittens)!  I love the picture of the evil bunnies trying to defend the castle while the kitties all creep up at the same time.

I love these!  I think many people I know will be getting these as gifts in the future.

He's so cute!  I love his hat and scarf!  I can't believe that's the first thing you've ever crocheted. Cheesy
