Its done, its done! I decided to go with the red after all, mostly because I was too impatient to wait long enough to buy the grey. I'm really glad I went with the red though. Thanks so very much for all your help!

I made this quilt for my husband for Christmas. I should mention that I don't particularly like this game but the hubs loves it and has been known to play well into the night.

Well, I almost done!! I just have to show it off but since it isn't finished I don't want to create a new post. I used fleece for the backing. All I lack is the binding, and while I was certain I wanted red, now I'm thinking grey instead. I am so bad with decisions, lol!

I agree with everyone else. This would do much better as applique.

On another note...I did a Spock design using a cross stitch grid but I didn't recognise the grid one to one. I combined several grid squares to make larger quilt blocks. See what I mean here

That quilt is amazing!

I think I have figured out how I'm going to accomplish this quilt. I plan on doing the applique and I found the perfect blotchy/mottled red on red fabric for it. Then I will be doing a rail fence pattern for the background with a combination of black and grey. I am itching to do it right now, but I will have to be creative as to how to do this without the hubs seeing me.

This is amazing! I am so jealous that you found that FQ bundle. I have a few Hot Wheels loving boys in my family that would go nuts over this.
