1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / hand made felt lily hair flower...Im pretty stoked! on: May 17, 2008 09:35:06 AM
I think its pretty radtacular.

I cut out the shape of a fatter type petaled flower then pinched and stiched down the center and , i think the term is rouched it? then I sewed on the beads. then rolled a smaller strip and added beads to that for the stamen. I did it while waiting for my dad to come through surgery...so black fit since i was feeling kind of dark. But it was all good, dad was ok, and the flower made my day. I love how the black hides the beads almost untill the light hits it and then it has kind of a little sparkly magic effect to it.

feedback of all kinds welcomed yo!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / fattie retro goodness yall! on: February 18, 2008 12:37:27 PM

I made this for valentines day , I guess. I am plus sized and wanted something to wear for my pin up-ish photos.....so here it is.... I used red jersey (aka an old t-shirt)....for the triangles....and an old black t-shirt for the braided "strings"....I then took some roses I had which I *was* going to make hair clips out of, and sewed them onto the triangles....and voila.

I am going to make bottoms too....but just to have as a set.

Let me know what you think.
7  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Flat portrait on: January 20, 2008 11:42:17 AM
at least not fast enough

I am planning on making a sort of portrait out of Sculpey

I am basically cutting and layering to make a picture

1- when laying the hair on the body (think flat on a card...not sculpture) would I have to do anything special to make it stick ? I dont want the little pieces of hair highlight falling off.

2-Once done ...If i were to NOT bake it onto a mirror or box....would gluing it straight onto a wood box be okay? ( i havent decided what I want to do with the picture when Im done)

3- how could I seal the piece?.... I would prefer a not too shiny finish....a little is okay but not sure glossy, or I fear the intricacies might be lost. At the same time I think I want total matte either.

thank you in advance....and any other things I might need to know would be very appriciated. And sorry about the bad spelling. Tongue
