4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: collages galore! on: January 10, 2008 11:22:28 PM
thanks for the nice comments!!!

in response to where i found the images... a lot of them were actually from alt press magazine... the ads for various cd releases and tours have the most amazing designs, which are incredibly useful for making interesting collages. i had tons of them lying around and no real use for them, so i decided to cut 'em up and turn 'em into collages. and then the tree branches and other generic nature-y backgrounds i think i got from an urban outfitters catalog.

so back in middle school i started compulsively collaging things. it
began when i discovered i could order free catalogs from delia*s, etc,
and then when i was done perusing, i started cutting out the pictures
of the tshirt screen prints/patterns and very carefully collaging them
all together in what ended up looking like an insane pop culture
explosion on paper.

but that was a decade ago, and my collaging style has evolved greatly
since... so here are some pictures of more recent projects from the
past year or so.

this is the planner i bought for school/work this past year:

yuck, right?

well, it's one of those where you can insert pictures/whatev into its
cover, so i made these...

back:

and voila! finished product:

then this past summer, i was feeling collage-y, so i grabbed my mod
podge, and i zoned in on the switch plates/outlet plates in my house:

in my room:

for my roommate's room:

in the living room:

for all of these i used clippings/pictures i've collected from
magazines over the years.

that's all for now! Smiley

these are so unbelievably cool and amazing. seriously. haha.

i just got back into shrinky dinking over christmas, and you've given me so many ideas for what is actually possible with this plastic. i just busted out my prismacolors and now i've been going to town, haha.

again, i applaud you! Smiley

i'm ridiculously into shrinky dink-ing right now, and i didn't even think of glitter gel pens.

now i'm gonna have to dig out my stash of colorful pens... haha.

and that looks fantastic!!!
