1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Warm window vs black out curtains on: May 04, 2010 07:59:28 AM
I just moved into my new apartment and I have these huge windows (90x44).  I work nights and need to have some type of black out curtain on my window.  I have heard about "warm window" fabric to help with insulation.  Has anyone made curtains out of these?
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / ideas for ugly bathroom? on: April 18, 2010 08:08:10 PM
I am moving to a new apartment.  The bathroom mirror is an old.

Any ideas on what I can do to make this look better.  I live in a rental so I can't mess with it too much.
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Stripping or sanding.. which is better to remove paint on: April 18, 2010 08:04:17 PM
I have this wood futon that I want to change from being a cherry wood color to white.  I have read that I can sand the shiny sealant off, I can prime the wood then paint it.  Is this true?  What is the best way to do it for a first timer?  Any recommendations for paint?

Does anyone know of a pattern for something similar?

Thanks!

Because it's Halloween time, and I live in Salem, MA, one cannot walk the streets with out an adequate cape... so I made this:

it came from this pattern

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / need help reading a pattern on: August 04, 2008 12:07:58 PM
I am trying to make this pattern: http://www.canadianliving.com/crafts/crochet/crocheted_v_neck_pullover.php

However I must be missing something because it's not turning out right.  I'm on line 3 of size 51
http://www.canadianliving.com/crafts/crochet/crocheted_v_neck_pullover_3.php

I'm getting confused on the " *over inc-sh work (sc in first ch-sp, INC-SH in corner ch-sp, sc in next ch-sp), SH in next sc*" maybe I'm missing what it means corner ch-sp.  Any suggestions?

Thanks
