1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Engineer's hat, but pretty lol on: November 16, 2008 02:40:06 PM
I saw a hat like this and thought why buy one when I can make it  Cheesy  So I sat down and made a pattern, took three tries to get the brim size right, and here are the results:

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / A "new" bike for Aidan on: June 22, 2008 04:58:07 PM
I guess this goes in here, feel free to move it mods if there is a better spot for it.

A few weeks ago, Aidan (my son) found his old bike.  He hadn't ridden one in 2 years and so it was a tad small for him.  However he was having a great time learning to ride it, and I had told him I would try to get him a new one for grading day.  Unfortunately, with my financial situation right now I can't afford the bike he really wants.

So yesterday we went to a few garage sales, and lo and behold, there was a bike for $2.00.  A steal as it was.  But it fit him perfectly, there was just one problem in his eyes.......it was purple with pink spatters. I convinced him it was something I could re-paint and that no one would know it had been purple.  I told him he could even pick the colour.  So he agreed and we went to pay for it and the guy said Aidan could have it, no charge Smiley

2 cans of spray paint and half a roll of masking tape later and here is Aidan's new bike:

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My sister's semi-formal on: March 07, 2008 10:53:13 AM
So, my sisters had their first semi-formal last night, and they gave me three days notice that they wanted new outfits  Roll Eyes So I quickly whipped up a dress for one, and a new top for the other (she couldn't decide on a top or a dress, so I decided for her, lol)

Feedback is welcome, unfortunately I didn't get any real close up pics.

This is the shirt:

The dress with the red trim, with a friend of their's:

She informed me this was her "I hate you face" when I told her to pose nicely  Grin
