1  Chullo! in Crochet: Completed Projects by Kuruku on: September 18, 2005 08:57:26 PM
Here's a chullo, complete with earflaps for that vicious prairie wind. I made up the pattern -- just started w/a small circle and increased gradually.

2  Square-bottomed shark tote in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Kuruku on: June 22, 2005 11:58:39 AM
I made this yesterday! So fast and easy. I am obsessed with sharks. This one is a bull shark, the most dangerous kind!

3  Crocheted button necklace in Crochet: Completed Projects by Kuruku on: April 15, 2005 07:08:58 AM
I posted this on the trinkets/jewelry board as well, but since there's crochet involved I figured I'd post it here, too.

I used these instructions: http://www.fortunecity.com/victorian/operatic/312/button1.htm

To make this:

It didn't take long, only a couple of hours spread out over a few nights. I also dyed the thread w/tea beforehand. Working w/such a tiny needle and such small thread was a new experience for me, but it wasn't hard (except on my eyes)...

4  Der Knopf! Button necklace & earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Kuruku on: April 14, 2005 11:48:11 PM
Using these instructions: http://www.fortunecity.com/victorian/operatic/312/button1.htm

I crocheted this:

It only took 2 hrs or so. It was very easy though it was my first time crocheting w/such a tiny needle, and such small thread. It didn't turn out quite as I'd hoped but it looks OK, I think!

I made these, too:

5  What would you do with this?? in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by Kuruku on: April 10, 2005 06:17:02 PM
I bought a big 'grab-bag' at a 2nd hand store, which was full of sewing and crafting stuff. This was stuffed into it -- it's a lovely old circular tapestry (looks kind of like it might have gone onto a pouf or a chair). It's about 8-9 inches in diameter. I would really love to do something with it -- like put it on a bag. Anyone have any ideas at all of what could be done w/it?
I don't have any sort of circular chair it could be upholstered onto...

7  Hell Yeah! in The Swap Gallery by Kuruku on: March 16, 2005 07:20:10 PM
I got a brilliant package loaded with skullish items from Shotgun_Bettie today.

A mask for my (much needed) beauty sleep:

An unbelievably cool silkscreened shirt, w/silver ink!

A zippered pouch filled with glass bubble magnets:

And two delicious-smelling Death by Chocolate soaps:

Thanks for the label indicating that they were soap. I thought that they were chocolate. You can very well guess what may have happened.

I love everything so very very much. You made my day!! Hooray!!

8  Felted Rat Igloo! in Crochet: Completed Projects by Kuruku on: February 26, 2005 12:56:37 PM
This project really proved to me that Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool (dyed with koolaid) felts like *crazy*.

Here's the igloo, pre felt. There's a plastic lid in the bottom to help it stand, and it's about 6 inches in diameter.

Here's the igloo postfelt, with a penny to show how unbelievably small it got!

And here's rat approval. She'll grow out of it eventually I'm sure.

9  Felted Ipod Cozy! in Crochet: Completed Projects by Kuruku on: December 18, 2004 11:26:33 PM
Here's hubby's Xmas prezzie - took me 2 movies to complete it (Ice Age and Nemesis Game) and 2 hot-water washing loads (with other stuff for agitation). Isn't it nice Smiley . Crocheted with a 5.5 hook, sport-weight 100% wool.

It's 17 stitches wide...It's a little roomy so next one will be perhaps 14 stitches wide. I made the mistake of crocheting the strap too short, so had to do some seriously blocking to make the flap fit under it.
