1  Shrinky Dink Octopus, Bacon, Moustache, and Cannibal Cupcakes (IMG HEAVY) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by rockiegirl on: April 05, 2010 06:02:11 PM
So instead of knitting at my weekly knit night, we decided to do Shrinky Dinks!  I had never done them before, so I drew out a few designs beforehand, and they are so much fun!  The best part is when they shrink - they curl up and get so tiny!  I used the opaque kind of plastic and colored them with Sharpies.  Here's what I made:

 - I put some in front of their original drawings to show the scale -

And my favorites I think are the cupcakes:

What do you think?

2  These are dope! . . . I mean . . . hemp . . . in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by rockiegirl on: May 29, 2007 07:53:35 AM
This is how I spend the summer - crafts of all kinds.  I have re-discovered the beauty of hemp (after visiting a hippie store and finding my stash of hemp from middle school).  I've decided instead of getting up and getting a job this summer, I am going to just do many, many crafts - hemp is definitely one of them.

These are both chokers made with 1mm hemp.  Yum.

And I'm terribly sorry if this picture doesn't work.   Huh

4  Sock Bunny in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by rockiegirl on: August 02, 2006 07:02:28 PM
This was made for a friend's birthday at the last minute. The one on the left is the original I based the red one off of. It looks crappy, but I guess you could say it has that ugly cuteness to it, doncha think?

5  Maroony Prom Goodness in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by rockiegirl on: August 02, 2006 06:53:45 PM
Well, first off, this dress was modified from Simplicity's 5238. Someone *looks around* didn't read the sizes before everything was cut, and it ended up being too small around the waist, so my mom and I came up with the idea of doing a corset back on a separate top from bottom. I got a cool little eyelet/snap clamp thing to do the back, so it looks pretty darn professional looking. (Man, was I nervous doing that - trying not to mess up the entire back punching holes the night or two before prom.) I hope you like it. Comments, please!

Thanks for looking!

6  It may just fly away . . . er . . . maybe not in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by rockiegirl on: August 02, 2006 06:24:13 PM
This was made out of an old tshirt that wasn't getting enough wear. The appliques are just scraps of fabric.
Oh, and if you can't tell, it's a pink blob holding balloons . . . very random, I know.

7  Pink and Black Coptic Bound Journal in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by rockiegirl on: August 02, 2006 06:03:34 PM
I made this a while ago for a color swap. I think it's one of my favorites that I've made.

(Picture hosting is new to me, so bear with me if this doesn't work.)

YAY!

So, I saw this post a few hours ago and decided that I needed a "Books Read" book where I could put entries of books I have read with info from the book into the journal. How awesome was that website the instructions came from?! I loved it, so I made my own. I used fabric instead of paper for the cover, and just glued it on. It looks semi-professional, I'd say. I am very happy with the way it turned out and definitely will be making more. Hey, I could even be up for my first swatch (switch, trade thing I never could get a hold of)!
Here is one of my blogs (one that I almost never use as you can see by the last entry) with the picture:

and here is the picture (I hope this works!):
