1  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Re: My First Attempt at Pottery on: December 07, 2011 11:08:13 AM
I set up a home studio (for studio read utility with lots of shelves and a kiln!) last year. My friends and I are also fairly new to this but if I can be of any help just ask.

My kiln was second hand but works well although it has two temperature control dials that do not equate to the temperature I need so I bought a thermocouple which works well.

The making and biquing of the pots is going well but I am having some issues with some of the glazes bubbling, these are ready made bought in glazes so my guess is that it is more to do with my temperatures than the glaze themselves.

Your pots are brill and I love the colours. Good luck...be careful though as this becomes very addictive xx

3  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hello on: February 08, 2008 12:46:25 PM
Hi, my name is Paula and I live in bonny Scotland. I work from home as a foster carer and have done for over 15yrs. I also have a smallholding to look after with sheep, chickens, rabbits and a veg patch.

I love crafting but I am very busy so I can't do as much as I would like to. I enjoy knitting, crotchet (recently taught by one of the cratfsters, thanks ZC Smiley),card making, cooking, spinning (just started...hence sheep) sewing and I am just making my first ever ATC Smiley
