1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Where the Wild Things Are longsleeve shirt:D on: February 22, 2010 05:27:30 PM
I'm in the middle of a sewing class right now and learned two things about thread.

1. Use high quality thread. Check for fuzzies on the spool, if the spool looks fuzzy that means it was made using shorter fibers which can cause more tangling and breaking.

2. Thread can get bruised. Think of it like dropping an apple. Try pulling a good amount off the spool and try again.

Oh and don't forget thread ages so if its older than 3 or 4 years old...throw it out.

BTW love the shirt!!!

OMG! I have the matching vanity to your dresser! I've been thinking of painting it but I sort of love the tacky cream and gold.  Good to know it looks so good painted!

I love this.  A couple years ago I had squash take over a corner of my parents yard.  Depending on what type of squash you grew you could bottle it as well.  I bottled hubbard squash with fresh thyme from my garden.  I loved the fresh squash taste all winter.

I love the use of the "Bolero" fabric!  It's my favorite print right now.

I love this pattern!  I really enoy your fabric choices.  I am using the same pattern right now to make the mobile for my bedroom.  Yay for instant gratification!

Martha Stewart also posted a pillow case purse like this.  I love your fabric choices!  They work great for beach bags.

What type of stabilizer did you use? Your stitches look great!  I bought some from Jenny's site, but I must be doing something wrong because it did seem to work great for me. Sad
