3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Plushie makers, where did you start? on: September 19, 2008 10:00:23 PM
I have been obsessing over all the plushie monsters, animals, random items turned into cute characters, and all the other handmade oddly cute stuffed creatures.  I want to make some but don't know where or how I should start so I thought I would take to the forums and see if I could get some guidance.  Where did you start? How did you come up with ideas? And what advice could you toss my way? Thanks for the help Cheesy

I bought one of her patterns for slippers and I had a bit of trouble getting the right size.  After making a few soles with different hooks I almost got it. they turned out a little big but I have to agree super cute and super comfy!! Now I want to make another pair!! Good job!

Google has a website translator, you type in the address and the language conversion you need, it helps sometimes.  It is worth checking out, I think

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: alphabet letter pattern problem on: May 05, 2008 10:51:00 AM
I am no pro, but I got two cents to add Wink

What I have found out and still try to apply even though my mind is telling me its confused is to follow the pattern as it says and to keep going, it usually comes out and makes sense in the end.  While that is a no duh comment, I know from experience, that I go into auto mode and I won't realize it until I'm lost.

This pattern specifically, I am not sure what you mean on what to do.  Do you know how to decrease?
If that is the problem, to dec you insert the hook into the first stitch, yarn over and insert into the next stitch and yarn over.  You should have 3 on your hook, then yarn over and pull through them all, then you continue the sc around.

I hope that helps some and if not I hope i didn't confuse you more.  Smiley If you need pm me. Good luck, stick with it and finish it, if it doesn't come out right the first time think of it as good practice
