Im thinking your shower or tub takes up a good portion of one wall, so you could make the floor the 'earth' section and get faux grass? I was thinking monster fur but thinking of it wet would be D: Of course you'd probably have to put down some kind of absorbant layer beneath whatever you'd put down, but I think a faux grass look would be adorable. Maybe with some little stones for a 'walkway.'

I agree with both above statements. I was going to suggest corkboard too.
Maybe you could include your kids and make one of those French memo boards?
Family bonding time!

Well since it doesn't work you don't really have to worry about messing it up with the keys exposed is my though.
Maybe you can make a hideaway one? Like rip out everything on the inside of the piano and put glasses racks in there, and if theres room enough, liquor cabinet!

If you're good with furniture making, you could make benches to go all the way around it and make a table out of it?

Theres a ton of things you could do!

If you've got some height, you can add some shelves above the units to store the blankets, or maybe some cabinets? Those give you a ton of decorating room.
Also, if you can paint, maybe a mural on the wall?

Oh oh ohhhhh you could totally refurbish it to look like a retro laundromat!!

Line it with chicken wire and that moss you rehydrate (home depot/lowes/craft stores), add some potting soil and plants.  You'll have a cool planter for your porch/balcony.

That is a totally awesome idea too! I definitely second this.
