62  A few birdies...my first few embroidery things in Needlework: Completed Projects by hngoodlett on: March 13, 2008 10:04:28 PM
So, I finally tried my hand at embroidering after I have been gazing longingly at all of your stuff. Of course, I am now in love with it. So I thought I'd put my first few things up here for all to see. It's nothing fancy, but I was super proud of myself.

This is the first first thing I made. It is the case that came with my camera. I don't really like the sides where I sewed it back up in black, but I'll live with it.

This is a shirt that I had that was kinda meh, so I added to it a bit.

Front, regular ol' shirt:

Bam! Side of the shirt:

Since the pictures aren't really great, here is a shot of what it looks like. This is actually on a bag I did for a swap, but it's almost the same. A slightly different color on the tree though.

So there it is. Comments, criticisms, and tips always welcome.

I got my package from michelleames today! I practically skipped back to my dorm to open it.
I thought I took a group shot, but apparently it didn't happen, so I'll get right to the awesome!

First, a cute little purse that is made from a place mat. It is all suede-y and fun to touch!

Next, an adorable little felt notebook with a button. (I love buttons!)

Then, an awesome knitting needle roll.

She even got me a new set of needles. In a size I didn't have!

Full of knitting stuff:

AND, an super pretty necklace earring set:

Also, look at her cute little tag thing she hung my jewelry from:

I feel so spoiled! Thank you so much Michelle!

64  Jewelry Organizers in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by hngoodlett on: March 11, 2008 10:19:57 AM
So, I ha been keeping my jewelry in random containers, but out of sight, out of mind applied and I never wore any of it. And since I don't have much surface area, I made these to hang on the wall.

This one is a shadow box that I refashioned a bit. The bock is covered in pages from an extremely old biology textbook.

This one is for my earrings. The hang-y parts are ribbons to hold my studs and other ones that won't stick through the mesh-y part.

I'm posting the pics of michelleames package from me in here, so they will be with all their swap brethren. You might have already seen them in the swap thread, but you know.

Bath salts in Marilyn container:

Scarf:

In person, the scarf is much more the color in the group shot. The color doesn't take a great picture; all the pics I took are weird colored too.
I'm so glad that she liked them!

66  It's my first time;be gentle! (Img. Heavy) in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by hngoodlett on: January 18, 2008 04:53:38 PM
So, this is my first post with one of my crafts. I was inspired by MissKuchiki's hair clips http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=218146.0 and had to make my own.

Preface: I never sew except buttons and the like, so my stitches are slightly wonky.
Also the pictures are sideways, so turn your heads.

Poop! I must have done the pictures wrong. I'm making them links for now, but I shall figure this out.
