1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Twinkle-Turmeric Toes! Image Fluffy. on: May 02, 2009 04:37:58 PM
So, I just finished my 3rd-ish pair of socks. They are made from some unidentified acrylic white yarn that I dyed with the spice turmeric. I love them, and I hope you do too!

2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Mascot Head for a FIRST Robotics team!! (PAPER MACHE GOODNESS!) on: March 29, 2009 08:00:29 AM
Hey all! So, I've been on my robotics team for three years, and all three years I have been campaigning to get a mascot costume. Now, our team is functioning on VERY limited finds, so buying an expensive custom mascot costume was out of the question. Consequently, we decided to make one! This was a group effort, participated in by me, some of my friends from the team, and a few moms. After a few weeks of blood, paper mache, and glitter.....

I now present... The #453 GEAR!

Final version:

This is his original face, the way we had him made for competition #1:

...Note the duct tape and cardboard gear parts. *blush*

Can you find him? Hint: Look for the 'Binary' knitted scarf (from Knitty). Wink

Then, for our second competiton, he got a makeover. He got some new coats of paper mache and gauze. Then he was covered in tissue paper and GLITTER!

(Our mentor John and I)

The only things it's short of are BREATHING HOLES!

Comments, questions, criticism welcome and encouraged! Cheesy
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Moebius Cowl on: January 27, 2009 04:26:33 PM
So... I'm a nerd.....

I knitted a ribbed moebius cowl to show my love for all things math.

It is knitted with 2 balls of Berroco Love It Colors in colorway "Monday Monday", purchased at City Knits in Mt. Clemens, MI. It took a three-day weekend to knit. It is not very warm, at least against negative-degree 7 am Michigan weather. But I love it anyways.

It's so smart, it can levitate sideways.

Excuse the sideways just-got-out-of-the-shower hair.

Comments, criticism, etc. much appreciated!  Wink
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Bright Red Baby Earflap Hat on: June 09, 2008 06:19:46 AM
Heyyy everyone! I made this hat for my former French teacher, who is having a baby this summer. It's crocheted top-down style, with little earflaps with braided pulls and a crocheted edge also. It was made with red, unknown acrylic yarn with no pattern. Enjoy.  Wink

Shown modeled on my Cheetah stuffie (not handmade  Tongue ).
Sorry about the blurry phone pictures.
Comments, questions, etc. are greatly appreciated and encouraged.  Smiley
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / I *heart* CRAFTSTER swap? on: April 27, 2008 11:03:32 AM
Hey everyone... s just thinking, wouldn't it be great to have a swap to show our Craftster pride? Just think about it- shirts, bags, buttons, aprons, jewelry- all Craftster themed! I only have one qualm... Would this violate some copyright or trademark?

I might be willing to organize if people are interested in it.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / "Berry" Baby Hat- my first project posted! on: April 14, 2008 07:19:33 PM
I knit this out of some unidentified acrylics for my Economics teacher's soon-to-be-born daughter. It only took me a few hours, and she was thrilled when she received it today. I only got one picture before I gave it to her, unfortunately. Here it is!

The pattern can be found here: http://randomstitches.wordpress.com/2008/01/11/hello-world/

Thanks for looking!
7  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / No longer a lurker from MI! on: January 01, 2008 09:23:44 AM
Hey all... Well, I finally decided to join up. I lurked here for.... probably around several months, maybe even a year- I dunno. Haha.

Anyways, I'm Audrey, I'm in highschool, I'm from MI, and I like knitting, friendship bracelet making (knotting), a bit of sewing, embroidery, and just being crafty. I probably owe most of my craftiness to Girl Scout Camp also.

So.... Yeah. Smiley

Ps. I can tell this will be my new obsession. Hah. Wink
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Veggie/Vegan Swap? on: December 31, 2007 02:45:20 PM
I looked back a few pages, but I didn't see one. I thought it might be neat (once I got my month, that is. Haha ^_^).
