1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / The Mean Reds Reducing Dress! on: April 12, 2010 12:53:37 PM
Its been a gloomy couple of months in my household so what better eay to herald the somewhat belated arrival of Spring than with a flowery dress?

I used Simplicity pattern 2591 for this dress and made no real alterations. Let me tell you, Ill buy Simplicity again in a heartbeat, this is such a straightforward pattern. And my favourite part has to be the pockets - perfect for hiding marbles and sunglasses and all manner or summery things. Instantly the mean reds have become a thing of the past!

Another great thing about this dress is the fabric, that cost 3 a metre and hides all manner of spills and puddy paw prints...

Hope you like it!

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / dumb and dumber on: August 07, 2008 02:41:30 AM
Dumb and Dumber is my favourite film of all time (I know, I know) and whenever something goes wrong my friends and I use this quote just to remind us that things could be going a lot worse...

So, in honour of Harry and Lloyd's adventure we have,
:)The briefcase Mary left in the limo that started it all
:)Lloyd's Christmas jumper from his dream sequnce with Mary
:)The 'hog' that Lloyd traded the van in for so they could get to Aspen (where the beer flows like wine...)
:)Petey the parakeet.  Before his head fell off and was sellotaped back on again so Lloyd could sell him to the blind kid
:)Finally we have the paw print and dog bone border as a tribute to Harry's dog grooming business he uses the last of his savings to set up

Most of the lettering and pictures here are based on ones I've found in Japanese embroidery books and adapted for the purpose.

Hope you like it!
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / happy families on: July 23, 2008 07:00:14 AM
Hi all,My sister has been ill over the last few weeks so I decided to embroider her this cushion in the hopes of making her feel better.  Featured are my sister, her boyfriend and their three hamsters (who sadly are no longer with us...).

I made the pattern up from one of my own drawings and used Ikea fabric for the back.  Hope you like it!x
