2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / reconing pants that are too big..Need lots of advice.. on: February 16, 2008 12:25:41 PM
I have three pairs of pants that i have bought recently that are one size too big. When i tired them on they fit OK, but i knew when i wore them for an hour or so they would be falling off. I am reduced to tears and much frustration because i dont know if anything can be done.

*The problem lies mostly in the crotch area, as well as the zipper area being baggy and of course the ass area is very saggy.

Should i just give these pants away and search for new ones that fit? or try to take them in?
Any tutorials would be appreciated!

6  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Lady like gloves hate me on: January 01, 2008 08:08:24 PM
I am trying desperately to crochet the "lady like gloves" in SnB. I cannot figure out the 2-dc cluster across next 4 st. The description in the book is not easy for me to understand. I watched a vid on nexstitch too. Am I a moron or what???
7  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / One skein scarf reinvented~ on: December 30, 2007 04:14:16 PM
I liked the once skein scarf in the SnB book. I decided to change it up a lil bit.
I Used the same size hook for the whole thing ( Size 5)--It made it more delicate looking. I also used a sport weight yarn. Last but not least, I added a slit in the middle to tuck the scarf thru.  I was trying to be more creative here--haha.

8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / HELP!!! Advice on buying a machine! Need everyones imput! on: December 30, 2007 10:33:38 AM
I have $100 to spend a new sewing machine. (maybe a lil bit more) I've had my eye on the Janome Magnolia, and found a few for $100 on ebay.  I would probably sew a few times a week, and hopefully start selling my ware as I improve. What do I need to look for in a quality machine?  What things should I be wary of??
C'mon craftster chicks, helpa sista out!
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crochet needle Roll organizer???? on: December 29, 2007 03:44:14 PM
So, my wonderful knitter friend has made the most awesome DIY knitting needle roll organizer (sewn using fabric scraps) that is featured in the stitch n bitch knitting book. So, my idea was to modify the pattern a bit--make it a lot shorter--to accomodate our shorter crochet needles. What do you guys think??
