If there is anyone in Detroit who crochets and is willing to show me a few things in person, I would be soooooo appreciative. I am trying to learn but I can't get past sc and all the tutorials on youtube.com go too fast  . Yeah, I'm slow, but persistent! Help me please. My boyfriend even bought me yarn that he thought would look pretty if I was able to make it into a scarf (or something) for myself. Right now I'd be happy if I could make a bookmark.

Hi All! I just joined today after having been linked thru the Handmade Detroit site. Haven't had much time to peruse around since I am busy busy busy in the start-up phase of a home business venture as well as having family, friends and the like over in this holiday season. I am definitely excited to be here tho! I live in downtown Detroit and am looking for people and events to inspire the creativity. I have been sewing off and on for about 10 years, I love paint, work with clay, and I have recently decided to take up crochet. If there are any events going on in the coming months please keep me in mind  I look forward to reading/creating/sharing !
