Why, thank you!  Boy, wouldn't it have been fun to have a group of giant creatures, though!  Godzilla, King Kong, Jolly Green Giant, the Stay Puff Marshmallow guy...
What a great idea. You should get a group of your friends to do all of these costumes and then take a field trip to Legoland!

Thanks!  Coming upon that witch in my crafting supplies is what started the whole thing!
So does that make it a "witch-crafting-supply?"  Grin And she's on a Vespa! I'm speechless...just too wonderful.
And so I'll be waiting with great anticipation for you to post pictures of your costumes...right?

This is such a great idea! I can't wait to try it. Hhmmmm, I'm pregnant, Do you think I could pull off this same idea in a maternity style?  Huh

Absolutely! with a big enough sweater it would just hug your tummy... OR ... you could use a second sweater and cut triangular gores to give it a flared look. If you do the gores be sure to let the hem dip down lower in the front. Hope to see you posting soon!

I bought a bunch of patterns for knit shirts that have a higher waste and wrap around design, and I've been putting them off - I can do the same thing by reconning a knit sweater, with much less work!

Isn't that the greatest thing about these types of projects? I'm a knitter, too, and now I look at all the sweater patterns I like and wonder "could I do that as a recon?" All of a sudden a year long project only takes 2 hours! YAY!

I love this. Thank you for the tute. I did this to a cashmere mens sweater and it's my new favorite piece of clothing.
You need to post it here. I'd love to see it!  Shocked

I know I personally love finding things in stores that look exactly like things I've made in the past and then laughing at how expensive they are! Well, I was perusing the internet (oh StumbleUpon, you bring me such joy...) and I found this!

I personally think yours is much cuter, and certainly didn't cost $110!

HA! I love seeing stuff like this...as if making original looking clothing was some kind of mystical thing. And you're right. I think my gray one cost 80 cents!  Grin
I have to go see if you made one!
