Oh wow! I just noticed this one...it slipped down the row a bit. Too cute. And those beads around the bottom of the skirt... (note to self) "adorable attention-getting at its best."

OK,so the truth is out...you have a real artist's eye.
Keep 'em coming. It's great to see your creations. (And it looks like you live in a beautiful forest, too)

Yea! Grin
It's so cute and I love how you got two sweaters out of one. Sewing on all of those buttons must have taken forever. You should be very proud.
Well Done.

WOW! Your bike looks like a screamer. I can only imagine how fun it will be to ride up to Ten Thousand Waves Grin
Hope your BF learns soon. Riding together is an indescribable bonding experience.
Take care and have a great time!
165  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Variation on "Hurry Up" dress...actually a jumper ("contraption" pic added) on: February 18, 2008 04:45:04 PM
So along the lines of this dress...

This isn't actually a flannel shirt, just heavy cotton with a pretty loose weave.

Instead of using the whole sleeve and gathering it for the bodice, I just used half and kept it flat:

I liked it this way but then got obsessed (in the middle of the night, as usual) with getting some blue onto it...don't ask me why, but I like it Smiley

The ruffle on the bottom is attached and the way I made it go up the front, I think, truly qualifies as a contraption! I probably should have just made a separate skirt. Oh well.
The contraption:

I'm actually going to my first rally in Texas in June! So excited!!

That is so great! I just looked at your profile...are you riding there from Santa Fe? That will be so beautiful. (my best friend lives in Santa Fe, I love it there).
What do you ride?

Thanks, Shroomama! I've been out in my studio all morning and just stopped for lunch... I'm "scary-hungry" as we call it around here Wink Your kind words make me want to get back out there!

The fact that you took a significant event in your life and turned it into a useful and appreciated gift for someone so significant in your life is pretty damn inspiring!
I really appreciate the thoughtful way you put that. Thank you, MistressT.

I love the embroidery, especially for your hair and the bike details.
Ya, I got a kick out of concentrating on the details like my V-Twin engine, the cut of the pipes, and the braided cables (kind of hard to see here). Thanks!

Drive carefully!!!
Thanks kahlan, "keep the rubber side down!"
