oh geeze! that reminds me of an awful comment a made about the school whore when i was like 14 (she was in fact a whore... she got all kinds of "gifts" from "gentleman callers")

24  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Clothing Pet Peeves on: May 31, 2005 07:52:23 PM
how do you guys know what bra size you're supposed to be? honestly? i wear 36B, but only because it's the size that works the best in the dressing room.. i need to know what my ACTUAL size is so i don't have to guess. I'm 17 and so confused bra shopping

to measure your bra size you measure loosely from the center of your back (where your bra sits) to the top your boobs. that is your band size (mine is 34) the you measure from the same point in back around your boobs (mine is 39) then subtract the big from the small :

if you have
1 you're an a
2 you're a b
3 you're a c
4 you're a d
5 your a dd

39 - 34 = 5 so I'm a 34DD

TA DA! now you can measure your TA-Tas (and you know way too much about mine!) the key is getting a loose measurement, especially if you don't have a bra on when you measure (lift and separate girls!) you want your bra to be comfy not constricting...

and don't worry at 21 bras still scare me (after 11 years of torture)

fun bra story:
my mom (40) and 34B was working in the garden bra-less and kinda flopping around. Her boyfriend (i know, how cute!) told her to invest in "one of those sport bra things". i get a frantic phone call from my mom asking me to explain what one is... i try, and fail. So i bring her one and she goes "why do i need to mash them down to plant flowers?"
yeah....we don't DO sports  Cheesy
25  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: In leiu of mother's corsages on: May 31, 2005 07:19:11 PM
there's tons of ideas!
Asian symbols (love mother harmony etc)
turtle doves
wedding bells and the date and or your names
music notes and "here comes the bride"
you and your SO faces and the date
if you have theme colors you can do rings and a decorative pillow with the date
"I'm with the bride/groom"
if they can take things lightheartedly
a shotgun.....
count down to babies jokes
"you can't even tell she's pregnant"
"he/shes not good enough for him/her"
"she's wearing WHITE!?!"
ultimately it's your day and if you made it they'll like it (or they can choke on their cake!)

26  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Knitty's Cleaves? on: May 22, 2005 11:49:53 AM
so i really like the idea of having a not-quite-sweater for not-quite-chilly evenings but i wonder if the cowl is long enough that you could wear it backwards (open front) for busty gals, kinda like a shrug. i want to war it around the house when it's chilly but i also want to be able to move in it. i'm worried the cowl will droop when i do arm-bendy things like read or knit. FO ladies....any thoughts (or better yet photos)  Grin

yours in confusion...
