Just checking in! Work and life have been getting in the way of me crafting... not to mention trying to decide on what I want to make, lol.

I've been trawlling the interwebs looking at loads of ways of making a petticoat for myself, and this is definitely the hugest one I have ever seen!
Can't wait to see you in full costume get up. Sounds like it'll be an impressive outfit.

I'm hoping it's somewhat impressive. The dress that goes over it is the first formal dress I have made and I'm quite proud of it so I hope I don't disappoint   

I'm sorry if this is pessimistic, I really don't mean it to be, but how are you going to sit in a car in that? My daughter was a ballerina last year in a poofy tutu and we had to take it off her every time we got into the car. It became a PITA after awhile.

I thought I would just take a running start and then just kinda hurl myself into the back seat of my friend's car... but then I might rip my dress. I dunno I'll figure something out, lol

63 yards???!! Holy crap - that's alot of tulle..... Curiously, how did you make it?

Yeah I still can't believe it took that much. I started by making and a-line skirt and marked where I wanted the tiers to go (there's 5 in total). And then I started with the bottom tier and took two strips of tulle and folded them in half and placed it under the presser foot as I went along. It was VERY time consuming and frustrating and when I got to the third tier the rest of it started to get in the way so I had to shift it every couple of inches.

It sure does! It makes me laugh everytime I take it off!

I had made this ballgown for an anime convention back in June but I never got to wear it because I didn't go to the convention. So I decided to just turn it into a "elegant vampire" costume. I still need to finish the dress but I have the teeth and everything.

One week and 63 yards of black tulle later, I have a petticoat of DOOM to go under my Halloween costume! And the best part is that I can use it by itself for other costumes!

I love the BOO!
