1  Headscarf ! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by windshadow on: January 14, 2008 05:53:59 AM
Found some colourful skulls fabric the other day and decided they'll make a pretty nice headscarf. My first project using a sewing machine, hence some seams didnt turn out too well. Took some effort sewing the sides in too. But i'm quite happy with it for a first attempt.  Grin

I made another with a white fabric with colourful monkeys which my sister took. She's wearing it right now and i'm unable to pry it away from her head.

This is from the interior view of one of my country's museums. It's taken at the entrance, so you can imagine the stares i've gotten from the people coming in..

3  Sunjar ! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by windshadow on: January 08, 2008 07:48:08 AM
I dismantled a solar lamp and fixed it onto a jar, placed in crumpled tracing paper and added in marbles to make the glow softer and have a speckled feel to it. Lastly, tied a ribbon and now i have a sunjar !

It lights up once in the dark ! Perfect as a night light (which is what i'm using it as now).

It would've been cuter if i could stuff the panel in but these solar lamps my friend got for me has their circuit soldered onto the casing so it's pretty impossible to do so. I modified the jars i got instead to make it work for me. So the solar panel looks as if it's supposed to be a part of the 'supposed ginished product'. Although not as nice as i originally planned it to be, i still quite like my current sunjar ! Grin
