1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: The ugliest pendant ever and a nifty sewing machine necklace on: December 27, 2009 10:45:27 AM
lol! I bet that first necklace is heavy...I have some of those jade-like rectangular beads too and even if I use one it drags me down!

I like the sewing machine one!
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Princess Peach Costume - Satan's Satin Strikes Again on: November 01, 2009 07:04:02 PM
I LOVE that costume - I knew exactly what she was in the thumbnail!

why would anyone ever buy a halloween costume?

No time? Not enough money? Not enough sewing skill? Disability? Kids who prefer store-bought?

Lots of us were raised on store-bought costumes and are none the worse for wear. I don't know why we can't ooh and ahh over the gorgeous handmade ones without putting down those who buy costumes for one reason or another.

I saw the thumbnail and said, "those are Martha's cupcakes!" So great job! They look delicious!

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Banana bracelet also advice requested please! on: October 28, 2008 05:51:35 AM
I'm sure she will LOVE it and completely appreciate the sentiment, concern and hard work you put into it.

I don't know how old your boyfriend is but I think he has a bit of growing up to do.  Wink
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Tree of Life Ornament on: October 15, 2008 05:08:38 AM
It's gorgeous and like the others, I really it being square! I tried a tree once and it ended up looking like a steel wool pad with gem chips thrown in for good measure. You did a great job!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: My first beaded projects, 2 dangly bracelets on: October 07, 2008 11:13:59 AM
Fantastic job!!!

I love the rainbow one...may try one myself this weekend with my leftover beads!
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Some wire wrapping, some bead stringing, all fun! on: September 23, 2008 08:22:50 PM
I took a beadstringing class last year and to my complete surprise, I'm still with it.  This weekend I did a few pieces...images below!

Christmas charm bracelet - I lose a lot of earrings...this was made from those earrings attached to a simple chain with a jump rings.

Wire-wrapped bracelet with glass beads and silver plate wire. I made the clasp, too!

Natural gemstone beads (not sure which kind...they were a mix), silvery glass beads, a pendant that was once an earring in Target's $1.00 bin (I have another one just like it!), a clasp made by me and earring wires from some store.  Wink All of my wire is non-tarnish silver plate wire from http://www.parawire.com/ Found them at a bead show in King of Prussia and I love that even after you work with it, it doesn't lose it's shine!

More babbling about these can be found on my blog...thanks for looking!
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: NKOTB are back and so am I! on: September 23, 2008 04:45:43 AM
Even from a distance, from the tiny thumbnail on the homepage, I knew I saw "my" Jonathan!

Great work!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: S3732 - shirt - are there dress codes for women???? on: July 27, 2008 05:32:36 AM
I am 35 years old, have a boring office job and I would definitely wear that.  I see nothing childish about those colors or that print.

What's more, the women at work who are older than I am wear much bolder prints! It's  very pretty shirt - wear it with pride!
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Orange and turquoise necklace on: July 21, 2008 08:12:39 PM
I've taken such pleasure in seeing everyone else's creations that I feel compelled to share one of my own.

Because I name everything, I'm calling this one "Tropics."

Action shot (I'm not jaundiced. I just couldn't color correct this one to save my life!)

The turquoise beads came from an old power bracelet (remember those?) that was stretched out from years ago, and the orange/coral beads are from Blue Moon's Enchanted Planet collection, via Michael's. The card said semi-precious stones, but I can't figure out which stone it is.

And naturally I ran out of beads so I used a bit of silver plate chain to extend it.

There are at least 3 technical errors I made on it, but you can't see'em when it's on me. Smiley

Whaddaya think, sirs?  Wink
