1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Fill-A-Box swap 11 Gallery on: January 26, 2009 03:45:03 PM
I woke up this morning to see a fancy little e-mail in my inbox informing me that I had a package waiting at the campus post office!  Not only did I find a package from the Sweat Shop Swap, I got my box from r0ckwithme!  Yay!

The loot!  I was sent lots o' stuff, including yarn (which my knitting roommate totally claimed), little toys to make jewelry out of, candles (which I unfortunately can't use in my dorm...   Cry ), adorable fabric, a "fashion doll" to cut apart and make jewelry out of, glass rock thingies, beads, and bunches more.

My favs:

An adorable buttoned pouch with a paper-ish bird sewn to the front.  Super cute!

Absolutely awesome robot fabric

A little blue scuba diver, who is soooo getting Dremel'ed and made into a necklace

And the absolutely best part...

Little plastic muscle men!  I took them out of the zippered pouch they came in and two were, well...  let's just say... intertwined in a rather unfortunate way.  My roomie thinks I should drill them and make a little, erm...  boy love bracelet.  Wink

Thanks a bunch, r0ckwithme!  I'll take muscle men off your hands any day!
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Make for a Charity Unswap Craftalong Round 1 (Through March 15, 2009) on: January 23, 2009 09:18:11 PM
I started crying when I read the cause for this craftalong.  My grandmother, mother, and I both have a genetic disorder that, among other things, gives us a 25% likelihood of having a stillborn child.  I have lost two siblings and am slightly terrified to have children of my own as a result.  I'm not sure that I'm emotionally able to help out with this swap, but I'd like very much to thank all you wonderful Craftsters for the work you are doing.  I know first-hand that any small item can be a great help to a grieving family and is something that is held onto... well, forever.

4  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Bag of Talent Swap on: January 22, 2009 07:46:38 AM
It's too bad I'm at school with no sewing machine, otherwise this swap would be perfect for me...   Sad

Oh my gosh, that's a lot of crafty awesomeness!  Now I feel like the box I'm sending isn't up to par...  *runs off to dig up even more fancy items*
9  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Fill-A-Box Round 11 - (US Only) CLOSED(send out 1/30) on: January 16, 2009 03:29:34 PM
Well, I finally have everything for TheSapphireMoon rounded up, but I have a dilemma.  I have four flat rate boxes sitting in my dorm room at school, waiting to be used.  Our post office workers at home tend to be crabby, and I'm going back to school Sunday in the land of happy postal workers.  So, do I wait till Monday to ship from school or do I acquire a box and ship out tomorrow?  Decisions, decisions...

The last time I shipped a flat rate box, I guessed and added on a little weight.  I'm pretty sure the post office doesn't care if you guess too high, just too low.
