1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Baby pants for tiny explorers (link to free pattern and tutorial) on: June 24, 2012 04:06:50 AM
Hi guys,

I made these cute and comfy pants for my 11 month old during one of his naps and decided to make a pdf and share it along with a tutorial (1 size only but easy to modify for I'd say 6mo to 24 mo sizes). You'll need about 1/2 yard and scraps of contrasting fabric. The buttons are ornamental but you can easily make them "functional":

I hope you enjoy it! Here's the link:

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Red Riding Hood + link to my free pattern! on: November 14, 2009 05:59:50 AM

This hood/scarf combo will keep you warm this winter! It's a super quick knit, so it's perfect for gift-knitting too.

For once I wrote my notes up in a pattern, which is available for free on Ravelry:
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/red-riding-hood---chaperon-rouge

If you don't have a Ravelry account leave me a comment on my blog (in my signature) and I will email you the pdf.

This is suitable for beginners =)
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Baby Sophisticate -- link to the FREE pattern! on: October 13, 2009 03:44:22 PM

This is such a great pattern, I found it on Stockinette's website:
 http://stockinette.wordpress.com/2009/04/06/baby-sophisticate/
(it's also on Ravelry).

I made some mods to get a larger size (for a 2 year old) and added the leather buttons to emphasize the librarian/grandpa feel... I highly recommend this pattern, it would be absolutely precious in a newborn size =)
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Ribbed Baby Jacket - link to FREE pattern!! on: September 17, 2009 08:10:01 AM
Thanks guys!
Sparrowowl : the yarn I used is Rowan Cashsoft 4-ply (double-stranded), and the color was "weather"
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Ribbed Baby Jacket - link to FREE pattern!! on: September 14, 2009 07:14:38 AM
I haven't posted in a while, but I've been knitting lots of baby things (and more to come -- see my blog if you like that sort of thing).

I thought Craftsters might benefit from having the link to this neat little pattern!
It's the Baby Ribbed Jacket by Debbie Bliss, which is available here:
http://www.allaboutyou.com/craft/Knitting-pattern-ribbed-baby-jacket/v1

Just one word of advice if you do knit it: I thought the sleeves as written in the pattern were too narrow, so I just added a bunch of rows to make sure they were wide enough for my liking. I also added a buttonhole, because I thought new moms wouldn't want to use brooches on newborn babies!
6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Little boys like strange critters don't they? ;) on: June 22, 2009 02:55:01 PM
I just made this wacky little outfit for my nephew (well my husband's nephew) who already has a very funky style (at 3 and a half). I thought that he might be interested in the fabric - at least for a few seconds =)

I really hope it fits him! I sort of winged the pattern

These are supposed to be below the knee shorts (with corduroy patches)

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Crabby! on: June 14, 2009 04:15:29 PM

Here's a fun little guy! I found the pattern in the last issue of Knitty... I did get sick of knitting the legs, so I'm afraid this crab is four-legged...

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Camellia Tunic on: May 25, 2009 08:04:32 AM
This tunic is soooo comfy and soft, I just love it. The pattern is Camellia, by Kate Gilbert, and the yarn I used (which is kind of wrong gauge-wise, but I made mods to offset this) is Patons Silk Bamboo in Sea colorway.
I'm now officially a fan of bamboo!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Feeling blue skirt on: May 09, 2009 06:29:41 AM
Hi,

Here's a quick skirt I made the other day when I was feeling very sad. I almost forced myself to make something cheerful, and I have to say, it really did help...
The pattern is based on a tutorial I found on Angry Chicken's website, it's called the 5-minute skirt. Using fold-over elastic for the waist really makes it super duper easy.

I added  2 pleated pockets (a bit hard to see on the above pic) and ricrac detailing:

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Cute summer top on: April 11, 2009 04:54:50 PM
I made this last night, I had a craving for pink!
The pattern is New Look 6705 # B with lots of mods and I added a flower for even more girliness Wink
