2  ugly endtable into cherry blossom love. in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by awesomejennyb on: April 14, 2008 07:44:24 AM
So I had this ugly endtable that sits next to our bed. I hated it. It was ugly, the color the handles. ick.

On Friday I got out of work early and found some local paper stores and got some amazing paper and was inspired by the paper to make this into something amazing that will help get my cherry blossom themed bedroom off to a good start!

this is a picture of the drawers before. I ALWAYS forget to take a complete before photo...but you can get the basic idea of it.

and this is what it looks like now minus the handles. (i'll get a photo of it soon)
the handles I put on it just so you can envision it are plain simple black handles. nothing fancy at all.

so many people's crafts on here like this made me do this!
I seriously love it and have 2 dressers to match to this though I'm thinking of painting them white with black drawers and white blossoms. we'll see though!

anyways....i sanded the wood down
painted it black, mod podged the paper on. and sealed it again with mod podge.

thanks for looking! Cheesy

oh AND the boyfriend totally loves it

3  shoe box turned pretty craft junk box in Completed Projects by awesomejennyb on: April 11, 2008 07:23:49 AM
I needed a box to hold all my random bits and pieces of crafting. My boyfriend got some new sneakers and they came in this fantastic shoebox I quickly stole for myself!
I painted it black. modge podged some tissue paper circles on and got this!

It looks like it's smudged in some spots in the pic but it's just the glue in some spots not dry yet!

It's completely full now! haha

4  First little notebook I've made... in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by awesomejennyb on: April 11, 2008 07:05:50 AM

Her birthday was in february except i've had no money to buy her anything or to be able to send a package out so this is part of her package i'm putting together.

I have a bunch of thick file folders and I cut one out to the size I wanted then covered the one side with the grass scrapbook paper and the inside with the paw print paper. cut the inside white paper to size and stapled the white paper together, made some holes and used cotton yarn to tie it together and sewed on a fun wooden button, tied some yarn for the closure and voila!

nothing fancy but it's a start and i think it's cute.
she has a little pomeranian who is her life. so grass and paw prints are appropriate.

6  newly painted shelf for my ugly bathroom.... in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by awesomejennyb on: March 27, 2008 10:40:26 AM
So my bathroom is pretty ugly and since i'm renting there is nothing i can do about the walls.

my landlord gave us a bunch of random furniture when we moved in a desk (that i'm still working on), 2 dressers (that need to be worked on very bad) and this shelf in the bathroom that i use for my towels.

I don't have a before picture but I have a half painted picture so you can see the ugly color before. lol

the blue arrow is where the paint had started to come off and was showing a bunch of other colors.

I had some awesome green paint laying around and some black. and went to town.

see the bathroom has wood panel walls. if my walls were white my bathroom would be green and yellow.

oh well. someday!

7  24 pack diet coke box into magazine holder! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by awesomejennyb on: March 27, 2008 10:35:01 AM
so my boyfriend and i both have a lot of magazines. and they wer sloppily just sitting in piles in the living room.

i saw my diet coke box and thought "hey that's big enough for all these magazines!"

I don't have before photos but you get the picture...

i cut it to the size of the biggest magazine i had. painted the outside black, took 2 really sturdy thick pieces of cardboard and glued them to the spine to make it sturdy and painted the inside red. and i didn't have any cool paper so i resorted to random magazine clippings! it's not much but it's better than having my magazines a mess!

8  decoupage and desk question! i need help! in Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions by awesomejennyb on: February 06, 2008 08:35:42 PM
So I have this old desk I want to make look cool for my living room. I know I want to paint it black, and do some decoupage.

BUT would it be too much to decouppage all the drawers, the 3 on the left and one on the right?

how can I fix up the top? it's that weird tile type top. can it be decoupaged?

I just want some suggestions!

I'm posting this in the home sweet home section too!
