1  UNITED STATES / Vermont / Re: er... any other vermonters on the boards? on: March 17, 2009 07:25:22 PM
I realize this topic's been dead for a while, but I have a question for you fellow VTers: Do any of you know of Anime/Manga conventions going on this summer close to Burlington? I'd love to check one out.
2  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: baby/childrens blanket along? on: February 05, 2009 06:08:02 PM
I've started a baby blanket for my friend's sister and I'd love in on this! So far, it's got a half double crochet border and a mesh-like interior. I'm planning on putting a piece of warm fabric behind the mesh to make the blanket more like a blanket and less like a net.  Tongue Is that a good idea? Have different suggestions?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: My Prom Dress, Finished the morning of prom :) Extra pics page 7 on: February 05, 2009 12:07:47 PM
I know this topic is old, but I had to comment. Great minds must think alike! I saw that exact picture and saved it to my computer so I could attempt a dress like it. I was even thinking about it for prom! Sadly, I'm not that talented yet, so it's still on my list of things to do. Yours is a beautiful version of it, I must say Smiley

This year, I'm going to make my own prom dress...just need to find a pattern or wing it. Heh...>.> Thank you for inspiring me!

Skillage that takes Smiley Was it hard to make?

Dude, My Little Ponies are amazing! My sisters and I used to have a bunch of them. Good costume idea Smiley

My friend has the idea that her and I go as Early and Late Victorian women. She's doing the late with the bustle and I'm doing the ever intimidating hoopskirt *cringe* of the early Victorian. I found Simplicity patterns to make the key items, like the dress and corset. The hoopskirt...Is it still possible to get the bell shape with really big petticoats?

If that falls through, I'm really wanting to go as a broken marionette since I have good makeup (at least I think so xD).  What I'm planning on doing is doing it like the ones from Doctor Who, as suggested by one of my friends, with the 18th century look. *shrug* And I'm making a "mini me" marionette so people get the idea a little easier *crosses fingers*

I've read all of this thread, and all costumes sound awesome! Can't wait to see the final results! *29 days!...I think  Cheesy*

So adorable! I let out a little "eek!" when I saw it  Cheesy I'm working on making Pete Wentz for my super obsessed friend. Great job and good luck making the rest of the band!

Quick question: How did you do his hair? I'm having issues figuring out how to make Petey's hair look right.
8  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Re: So I blame Barnes and Noble....(Amigurumi Question) on: April 30, 2008 10:41:17 AM
I just bought that book yesterday, believe it or not. xD I'm a beginner, too, and the amigurumi are my first project. The only thing that confuses and frustrates me is crocheting in the round...it's foreign to me. lol I'll figure it out with help eventually.

Good luck with your amigurumi!  Cheesy
