1  Sweet Dreams...I can rest easy tonight in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by boxercurl on: July 08, 2008 11:19:21 AM
OK so this is my first sewing project that I am VERY proud of.  Please let me know if my head is getting tooo big!!  I wanted to make a new comforter for our bed, I originally made a quilt (no pictures) and that didn't turn out very well but it served it's purpose.

Now I have a new found love of interior decorating and the rest of my house I'm kinda going for a vintage shabby sorta not dorm room look, but I wanted something serene and relaxing in the bedroom.  So this is what I came up with...keep in mind this is a WIP!!  I still need to put something up on the walls at least.

Here is the comforter

Detail of the embroidery

and everything so far...

Brutal Honesty would be appreciated!!

2  My "New" Dining Room in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by boxercurl on: July 07, 2008 10:03:14 AM
OK, so I am not interior decorator and this is my first attempt to make my house look more like a home and less like a dorm room with a bunch of mismatch hand me downs...How did I do?

Brutal Honesty would be greatly appreciated seeing as how visitors to my home will be seeing this as well.

This is what the chairs and table looked like before

and after

Heres the vintage hutch I bought at the flea market for $90.00.  I had to strip it and paint it.  The original finish was UUUUUGGGLLYY!!

Here are my curtains

and everything together

Please let me know if you have any suggestions

Next...the bedroom!!!

3  Onsies for my Nephew to be (Lotsa pics) in Stenciling: Completed Projects by boxercurl on: March 04, 2008 08:10:50 AM
These are some onsies that I stenciled for my sister who is about to have my first nephew.  I'm soo excited for her.  Please let me know what you think of these.  Some of them seem a bit sloppy to me but the stencils were a pain to cute out and the material onsies are made of is sooooooooo thin they didn't like to be painted.

Onward to the pictures...

4  My most ambitious project yet!! in Stenciling: Completed Projects by boxercurl on: February 15, 2008 10:14:55 AM
I really love the way this turned out.  I made it for a friend of mine's birthday.  I'm trying to do alot more handmade this year and she loves horses and has a mustang convertible...so here is her present.

**This stencil was a pain in the rear to cut out**

**The finished product**

It is not perfect but this is only my third freezer paper stencil and unless you are close you cannot really see the goofs.
I'd love to know what yall think as I am very proud of myself. Grin

Also, sorry if the pictures are blurry I can't really tell I was staring at the stencil for too long cutting it out so my eyes are crossed.

5  My first time...how'd I do? in Stenciling: Completed Projects by boxercurl on: February 13, 2008 06:41:26 AM
I made this for a ten year old's birthday.  He just loves wrestling and especially the "Undertaker".  I think I am going to add his name and like a coffin or something to the front of the shirt.  What do y'all think?

This one I made for my DH for Valentine's Day.  We just love the movie Tombstone, so here is Wyatt Earp and the quote that I love most from the movie.

**back all together**

I think something needs to be added to the Tombstone shirt.  It needs more color!! Any suggestions?

6  Please help me make my Valentines Present!! in Stenciling: Discussion and Questions by boxercurl on: February 11, 2008 10:32:25 AM
Please, Please, Please help Cry!!  I need a stencil made out of Kurt Russell from this picture or one similar and cannot find one or figure out how to make one.  If someone could help me I would forever be in your debt.  BTW, this is a valentines present so time is of the essence.  Sorry for not allowing much time, I didn't think this would be so complicated.
Thanks everyone

Please excuse the dirty workdesk...I probably should be working rather than playing on the computer, oh well!!  I had a long weekend so I decided to try my hand at making another purse.  This is my second one and my second wallet as well.  These here turned out much better than the first ones I made.
Please let me know what you think or if yall would have done anything different.
Thanks for looking!!!!

**Don't let the money fool you, it's all one's unfortunately!!!

8  Go easy on me...first post, first purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by boxercurl on: January 16, 2008 07:33:09 AM

I hope this works, I'm having a hard time with the pictures. Huh  Anyway, this is my first project.  Suggestions and constructive criticism welcome.  I know the fabrics were probably not the best choices to go together, but I love toile and was just dying to make something.  Thanks to everyone that posts their wonderful tutorials on craftster.  Yall are the ones that taught me how to sew.  I'm still learning and have a long way to go, but with yall's help I will be a pro in no time.  Grin Thanks!!!!!!!
